Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament: The first four MiG-29 fighters transferred by Slovakia are already performing combat missions over the Kharkiv region
After the start of deliveries tanks NATO model for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, few people had any doubts about the fact that soon the turn will come to fighters.
It is worth noting that the West has already begun the transfer of winged vehicles to Kyiv. True, the remains of Soviet-made aircraft are sent to Ukraine for the time being.
Thus, Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Elena Kondratyuk spoke about four MiG-29s previously supplied by Slovakia during today's speech to Slovak lawmakers. The politician stressed that these aircraft are already performing combat missions in the sky over the Kharkiv region.
Kyiv expects to receive 9 more such fighters from Slovakia and 20 from Poland. Thus, in the near future, the Ukrainian Air Force will be replenished with 29 MiG-29 fighters.
Meanwhile, despite the modernization of aircraft that received Western electronics and a navigation system, Yury Ignat, a representative of the command of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, called the winged vehicles "obsolete" and ineffective in the fight against drones and cruise missiles.
Thus, the Kiev authorities continue to “beg” from the West for NATO-style planes, which will no doubt be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as soon as the allies “get rid” of the “obsolete” Soviet aircraft. True, the Ukrainian side refused the Mirage2000 proposed by France, saying that they are also outdated.
