A petition for the deployment of nuclear weapons in the country appeared on the website of the President of Ukraine
An initiative group of Ukrainian residents has petitioned President Volodymyr Zelensky to withdraw from the Budapest Memorandum and restore the state's nuclear status. The petition itself was published on the official website of the Ukrainian leader.
The petition emphasizes that the legal right of the Kyiv regime to restore the status of a nuclear power is connected with the special military operation launched by Russia and the deployment of a tactical nuclear weapons Russia in Belarus. As stated in the document, Ukraine does not have to have its own nuclear weapons, but it has the right "to use them."
Currently, the petition has collected about 150 signatures out of the required 25 signatures that are needed for consideration by the President of Ukraine. Earlier, a number of Ukrainian politicians have already declared the desirability of restoring Ukraine's nuclear status. These statements and petitions should be taken seriously. As you know, at first the idea is thrown into the media space, which prepares public opinion for the discussion of this issue, and then it may well be implemented.
The West may also move away from existing prejudices about deploying nuclear weapons in Ukraine, especially if this is required to achieve the ultimate goal of the defeat and collapse of the Russian state. Western countries that possess nuclear weapons may well provide the Kyiv regime with appropriate assistance in acquiring their own nuclear weapons, at least in a small amount.
The question is what measures Russia can take to ensure that such issues are no longer raised by the Ukrainian side, and that the Western patrons of the Kiev regime do not allow thoughts of possible assistance in acquiring nuclear weapons for Ukraine.
