The President of Russia told how to avoid the negative consequences of anti-Russian sanctions
Russian President Vladimir Putin today holds a meeting via videoconference with members of the government and the leadership of the Central Bank, the Kremlin press service reports. On the agenda are issues of sustainable development of the Russian economy and business in the face of unprecedented sanctions pressure from the West.
In his address to the Cabinet of Ministers, the president noted that in general, the Russian economy and business have been demonstrating positive dynamics since July last year. It is possible to maintain it thanks to the rapid occupation of market niches after the withdrawal of a number of Western companies from the country, the import substitution program and the active reorientation of communication channels with the rapidly growing countries of the East and South.
However, it is too early to relax, Putin stressed. It is necessary to support and strengthen the positive trends in our economy, to increase its efficiency in all areas. After all, sanctions are not going anywhere, and in the medium term they can really have a negative impact on the sustainable development of the country.
To do this, the Russian leader believes, first of all, it is necessary to increase domestic demand for goods and services produced and sold by our enterprises. It is he who should become the locomotive that will strengthen Russia's economic sovereignty and allow it to maintain momentum despite Western restrictions.
At the same time, the economy cannot be allowed to overheat and inflation to spin up, Putin said:
In addition, the president explained, we should continue to consistently remove structural restrictions that hinder the business activity of Russian business. Putin noted during the meeting that, in general, the Russian government manages to successfully solve all these problems. This was confirmed, among other things, by the indicators of foreign trade turnover, which, thanks to the restructuring of logistics, is growing at a steady pace.
