Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN: Turning Artemivsk into a symbol is a tragic mistake of Ukraine

As you know, in recent months, the Donetsk city of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) has been the hottest spot in the zone of the special military operation, where all new forces from both sides are concentrating.

According to Dmitry Polyansky, Russian Deputy Representative to the UN, the Ukrainian side made a tragic mistake by turning Artemovsk into a certain symbol. The Russian diplomat said this in an interview RIA News.

The creation of an aura of resilience and resistance of Ukraine around Bakhmut leads to the fact that in order to maintain this status, Kyiv has to transfer more and more reserves to Artemovsk, turning them into cannon fodder, Polyansky believes.

The diplomat also noted that Russia does not use all of its military power during the offensive in the Donbass, as it “carefully treats manpower and the civilian population.” Polyansky also added that the fate of Artemovsk is predetermined.

Evidence of the Ukrainian side turning Artemivsk into a symbol can also be the statement made earlier by President Zelensky, in which he actually called the battles near Bakhmut a turning point, noting that if Ukraine loses, it will face international and domestic pressure.

It looks like the winner of this meat grinder (RF) will have a huge chance of winning the entire campaign.

For Ukraine, Bakhmut can become both a place of tragedy, and that SYMBOL around which the authorities can unite the people. It didn't work out with Mariupol...

Yes, there seems to be no people who can unite. Gangs of nationalists and mercenaries remained. But the fact that this is a mistake is true. Too publicized. Again, they encouraged the United States, but here oops ... They can really limit it in finances. And where should the "peasant go?"

    Is he drunk or small?
What, what is wrong with the fact that enemy troops turn into meat?
Whose mill is he pouring water on, "deputy representative"?

The second option is not satisfied because our losses are excessively large ...
And again - why are you opening your mouth?!

    Bad news, better not be...

That's what shocked me - it's the lack of logic and the presence of hypocrisy in the statement of Mr. Polyansky. Mr. Polyansky said that Russia is not fighting in Donbas at full strength, because the Russian Federation wants to save manpower and population. Is it clear to Mr. Polyansky that a war not at full strength leads to a prolongation of the conflict, that is, the losses in manpower during a "slow war" remain the same as during a "fast war"? They simply stretch out in time. Where is the logic? By the civilian population. It is understood that they mean the lives of the inhabitants of Donbass in cities near Ukraine (for example, Slavyansk), which (life) he wants to save. But the matter is dragging on. At this time, the enemy is bombing Donetsk mercilessly. So the inhabitants of Donetsk are dying because of for a slow war are less important than the inhabitants of Slavyansk? Hypocrisy!!! One would like to say BDM (the inhabitants of Donetsk matter). Well, I understand - a diplomat - just repeats the stupid words of Kremlin propaganda - but if you think about it?

The diplomat also noted that Russia is far from using all of its military power during the offensive in Donbass.

We already heard this last summer ( didn't even start), after a gesture of goodwill from near Kyiv / Sumy / Chernigov and on the eve of the Kharkov regrouping. Maybe you should not scratch your tongue in advance, so as not to blush later?

    Actually, this is a classic.
Exchange some previously unknown city for a while.
This happened in VO, and in the Russian-Japanese, and even in the Mongol invasion - the famous city of Kozelsk.
And they started writing about the fighting near Artemovsk last summer. Almost a year.

Therefore, just noodles, IMHO. And the level of our officials with statements ...

It depends on what the losses of the parties are, and most importantly, what forces and means of the RF Armed Forces and from where they are drawn to Artemovsk. Objectively, the priority for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the southern direction. And if the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already prepared a strike force for this today, the defense of Artyomovsk has successfully completed its function. Much is determined by the level of independence of the Russian General Staff. If he works according to the principle "how not to offend the Hero of Russia Prigozhin, otherwise there will be trouble" - one can expect guaranteed bad news.

"And if the armed forces of Ukraine have already prepared a strike force for this today, the defense of Artemivsk has successfully fulfilled its function."
this statement will only be true if the casualty to loss ratio is positive, but if the number of dead/non-combat Ukrainians in Artemivsk is too high, so important that it jeopardizes any successful offensive by the Ukrainians, the defense of this city will be a failure, lost mission.
But no one, well, none of us knows the true balances on both sides...

"We are sending more and more signals that the red lines have been crossed, but perhaps the reddest of them have not yet been crossed..", Polyansky said in an interview with American journalist Kim Iversen.

Is this the same Polyansky? I can't take him seriously, sorry.

This is not the first time I see how people from the Foreign Ministry strive to give good advice to enemies. Mr. Polyansky wants to serve Ukraine? If not, he'd rather chew something than talk. Who authorized him to speak about military operations during the war: Prigogine? Putin?
Imagine if Molotov began to declare that Hitler had nothing to lose at Stalingrad and it would be better if he withdrew his troops?!
I'm not looking for traitors, but these MFAs are definitely some kind of female dogs.

Bakhmut is not Stalingrad and not Kharkov. Bakhmut may be a cover, distracting from the preparation of a large counteroffensive. Here it can definitely turn out to be Stalingrad for us. Everything is still in the fog.
So which side to look at .... Polyansky advises Ukraine to lay down their arms in Bakhmut and thereby free the forces of the RF + Wagner to solve other problems. And Zelensky demands to hold on ..... From the Russian side, everything is logical.

an earlier statement by President Zelensky in which he actually called the battles near Bakhmut a turning point

Yes, what a turning point, everyone is waiting for the Ukrainian offensive and its results. And it seems that even they will not be "turning points", since the supply of weapons and the production of ammunition in the West are announced, which obviously will not be in time for this offensive, so now it is obvious that further military operations are planned, regardless of the results of this offensive.
According to Dmitry Polyansky, Russian Deputy Representative to the UN, the Ukrainian side made a tragic mistake by turning Artemovsk into a certain symbol.

Maybe the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should take up their diplomatic affairs, otherwise they have somehow not been able to succeed for a long time? Or, if they have already taken up the military, to form assault groups in the Foreign Ministry - and to Artemovsk?
