German edition: Germany delivered to Ukraine all the promised Leopard 2A6 tanks and BMP Marder
Germany supplied Kyiv Tanks Leopard 2, as well as Marder infantry fighting vehicles, all equipment is already on the territory of Ukraine. This is reported by the German edition of Der Spiegel.
Germany delivered to Ukraine all the promised tanks, i.e. eighteen MBT Leopard 2A6. In addition, about forty Marder infantry fighting vehicles arrived in Ukraine. Thus, Berlin closed all obligations to Kiev for armored vehicles. Earlier, the Germans promised Zelensky 18 tanks and 40 infantry fighting vehicles.
The fact that the tanks will soon be delivered to Ukraine was reported in mid-March by the German television and radio company NDR, citing sources in the Bundeswehr. At the same time, it was reported that Ukrainian tankers who arrived in Germany for training had completed their training and would soon go home, and immediately with tanks. So it was in fact and not, it’s hard to say now, but the fact that the German Leopard 2A6 is already in Ukraine is said even in Germany itself.
According to Ukrainian sources, Kyiv is in a hurry, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine intends to assemble a shock fist for the start of the counteroffensive, which is planned for the first half of April. Hence the short training time for tankers, both in Germany and in the UK. The Germans bluntly said that in a little over a month they managed to train Ukrainian crews only in the basics of driving rather complex tanks. But the Kyiv regime does not care about this, the main thing is to collect as much equipment as possible and train as many personnel as possible.
Meanwhile, as military experts note, Germany, in addition to tanks, transferred to Ukraine a large number of engineering vehicles and bridge layers. This is due, first of all, to the fact that German tanks are much heavier than ours and not every bridge is able to withstand from 55 (Leopard 2A4) to 63 (Leopard 2A6) tons. Practical Germans know this and therefore supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with this technique.
