Slovak president: support for Ukraine by citizens of the country is weakening
17
Financial sources of assistance to the Kyiv regime by Western countries, in particular Slovakia, are not unlimited. And support for Ukraine by the citizens of the country is weakening.
This opinion was expressed by the Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova.
She stated that ordinary Slovaks sympathize with the Ukrainian refugees and support their arrival in their country. But at the same time, residents of Slovakia note that the arrival of guests from Ukraine has made life difficult for them.
The authorities of this Eastern European country not only accept citizens of Ukraine leaving their homeland due to hostilities, but also supply weapons her army. In particular, Bratislava sent the first batch of four Soviet MiG-29 fighters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She expects to receive compensation from allies for the supply of aircraft to the Ukrainian military in the amount of $900 million. Most of this amount will be offset by American weapons.
And although the West continues to actively pump weapons into the Kiev regime, the idea of peace talks with Moscow is becoming more and more popular there. True, as the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal notes, specific diplomatic initiatives have not yet been formed from this idea. Some European diplomats doubt the possibility of reaching peaceful Russian-Ukrainian agreements. They believe that a "war of attrition" is much more likely to last for several years.
It is not difficult to design a peace process in the abstract. It is much more difficult to find the moment when its implementation becomes a real option.
