Poland refused to transfer all the promised MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine at once
Ukraine's hopes for a one-time transfer of Polish MiG-29 fighters will not come true, Warsaw does not intend to give all its aircraft to Kyiv, at least for the time being. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Pavel Yablonsky.
Poland does not disclose its plans to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, citing the secrecy of information, but some part of this information in Warsaw was decided to be revealed a little, and it concerns the process of transferring aircraft. According to the Polish diplomat, Kyiv will not immediately receive all the fighters, the transfer will be carried out in batches, but only the Polish Ministry of Defense knows all the nuances of this deal.
Yablonsky said.
In the middle of this month, Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki promised to deliver planes to Ukraine within the next four to six weeks, but did not provide any other details. In total, the Polish Air Force is ready to transfer twenty MiG-29 fighters from its composition to Ukraine. Currently, the planes are located at the Malbork air base near the borders with the Russian Kaliningrad region, where they were transferred at the end of last year.
Another thirteen MiG-29 fighters were promised to Kyiv by Slovakia, and four of them have already been delivered. Something is wrong with the rest, or they need repair, or maybe something else.
Some Ukrainian media, commenting on Yablonsky's statement, suggested that Poland would transfer only part of the promised aircraft to Ukraine, leaving the rest to itself. True, it is not known for what needs, because Great Britain has already promised Warsaw to compensate for all the aircraft transferred to Ukraine from its stocks.
