Polish miners bring a coffin with portraits of Thunberg and Leyen to the EU office

The environmental policy of the European Union has long irritated many Europeans, as it entails the emergence of new economic and social problems. The EU directive on the reduction of methane emissions has caused strong dissatisfaction among Polish miners.
In Warsaw, workers in the Polish coal industry staged a protest against EU policies. They brought to the building of the EU office in Poland a coffin with photographs attached to it of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the well-known environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
According to ABC News, Polish miners are blaming the EU leadership that the adopted directive will deprive them of work and they will be left without a livelihood. The protest was organized by the Solidarity 80 trade union. Union members argue that if Poland starts implementing the directive to reduce methane emissions, it will have to close most of the country's mines. As a result of such a policy, dozens of miners will be left without work.
About 300 miners took part in the protest action. They chanted "Thieves" and turned on sirens to attract attention, as well as lit smoke bombs. Due to the protest in this area of Warsaw, the movement of public and private vehicles had to be temporarily blocked.
Meanwhile, protests against pension reform continue in France. They become more and more violent, police and special forces are forced to use tear gas and water cannons against crowds of protesters.
