In Sevastopol, the loss of the Saratov large landing ship was confirmed during the hostilities in Ukraine in March 2022

The Black Sea Fleet officially confirmed the loss in 2022 of the large landing ship Saratov, which was hit in the port of Berdyansk during unloading. This was stated by the commander of the Crimean naval base of the Black Sea fleet Felix Menkov.

Today in Sevastopol, a memorial plaque was unveiled to the sailors who died during a special operation in Ukraine. Speaking at the ceremony, Menkov confirmed the loss of the Saratov large landing ship in March 2022 during the fighting in Berdyansk. According to him, the open memorial plaque will be a reminder to future generations of the feat of the Sevastopol sailors.

A year ago, in the course of combat operations, we lost a ship of the landing force, the large landing ship "Saratov". Lost the personnel of the landing ship "Saratov", "Novocherkassk", "Caesar Kunikov"

Rear Admiral said.

Recall that the large landing craft "Saratov" was hit by a Ukrainian missile "Tochka-U" at the berth in the port of Berdyansk in March last year. A fire broke out on board the ship, and in order to prevent the detonation of the ammunition that the Saratov was transporting, it was decided to flood it right at the pier, which was done. The ship was raised to the surface on July 1, after which they wanted to send it for repairs to Kerch, but decided to dispose of it on the spot due to the damage received.

The large landing ship "Saratov" became the first ship in the BDK series of project 1171, built in Kaliningrad at the Yantar shipyard. He served in the Navy of the Soviet Union and then Russia for 56 years, joining the Black Sea Fleet in 1966 and was withdrawn from it in 2022 due to the destruction by a Ukrainian missile.

Not even a year has passed. It's a shame that the recognition of errors occurs after a year. But it is with the recognition of an error or problem that the process of correcting it begins.

Don't be offended. You don’t know when the actual confession of mistakes happened, but you replace it with a time of public confession with an accusation, they say, they did nothing for a whole year to correct these mistakes, which, of course, you are also not aware of. On the offended ... you know.

Igor, you simply didn’t come across the first critical materials on that situation in Berdyansk, where glaring mistakes were immediately called with the mooring of three BDKs at once to one pier. Moreover, this did not allow simultaneous unloading from three ships and two other BDKs could stand in the roadstead waiting in line. They also wrote about the many non-disconnected Webcams in the port, from which the Armed Forces of Ukraine could observe everything that was happening at the berths. But here I think that even without video cameras there was someone to tell the Armed Forces of Ukraine where and with what to attack such a tasty target.

For some reason, I don’t want to write anything about whether the real culprits in the story with the same “Moscow” were held accountable, perhaps because this would be a rhetorical question.
And all that I want to say after such words
Lost the personnel of the landing ship "Saratov", "Novocherkassk", "Caesar Kunikov"

    - how much we want the guys to return home safe and sound, and if it didn’t work out, so that we, the survivors, would have enough conscience, memory not to forget about the causes of the NWO, the victims that we left and will leave in this operation.

It's hard to talk about it ... About the universal mess in the navy and army. About the incompetence of parquet officers. Questions arise only when personnel and ships die from this mess. What conclusions will be drawn from all this depends, among other things, on the future of the army and navy, and hence the future of our country with you - Russia.

Confirmation of losses should be dealt with by historians when they get access to the archives in 100 years. For your scientific interest. Now nobody needs it.

Future sailors need to be motivated not with commemorative plaques, but to inspire them with confidence that they will not die; there are no losses from our side

Well, last April, if I don’t confuse anything, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that our losses were about 5 thousand people dead and since then not a gu-gu about it. Although, too, if there are 14 thousand dead in the whole of Afghanistan, and here there are five in a couple of months, then this is really bad. Here they are silent.

During the time of Afghanistan, the Minister of Defense was a military man, he had several military formations. And the current minister was a builder, then he moved to firefighters, and then became the Minister of Defense, without any military education, but, by the way, he conducted wonderful tank biathlons.

During the entry of troops into Afghanistan, Ustinov was the Minister of Defense. Although he held the rank of marshal, he NEVER received any military education, only doing his military service in 1922 (telephone operator). He made his main career in the military-industrial complex.

After becoming Minister of Defense, Ustinov continued to be fixated on the defense industry, increasing and increasing the production of weapons. As a result, for example, the number of tanks in the USSR exceeded 60 thousand, which is more than in the rest of the world combined!

As far as I remember the situation a year ago, Saratov and Caesar Kunikov stood side to side in the port of Berdyansk. Khokhlyatsky rockets regularly tried to hit them, and the leadership cheerfully reported that they were successfully shooting down everyone. Finally got it. The question is who gave the order to them to stand and wait for the air defense to be broken through? Who, by his order, ruined the ships and personnel? The Commander-in-Chief of the Black Sea Fleet was removed after this and the incident with Moscow, and that's it ..?

What broke? The loss was confirmed by the grandfather of the Navy BDK Saratov, who served 56 years and died not from old age, but from a missile hit.
This is one of the black stripes in the history of the NWO, where they underestimated the enemy and decided to fraternize, and the opposite side (frantic with the national-Bandera consciousness), brought up by 40 years of hatred for everything Russian, staged a bloodbath for Us!
We, as always, confirm our essence, regardless of Our losses.

Who did Khrushchev liberate from the camps? The very Nazis who burned the villages alive, worked in concentration camps, simply raped and killed ... Khrushchev pardoned everyone, restored their rights, and then these "illegally convicted" by Stalin, in Ukraine, in Germany, occupied leading positions, educated young people. Under Stalin, capital punishment was 25 years in prison, they didn’t shoot them ... There are already many people who were born, grew up, grew old and died of old age, carrying hatred for Russia from the cradle, and under Brezhnev they were not persecuted, not to mention more late leaders.

Incidentally, the day before the sinking, Channel 1 aired a peppy story about how Saratov was being unloaded in Berdyansk, in which it was perfectly clear where the ship was standing. Apparently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine looked at the evening Russian news, and the next day they pointed at Saratov Tochka, making the simplest geolocation. There was no direct hit, judging by the video of the defeat, but burning fragments fell on the ships and on the unloaded ammunition, fires broke out, so the flooding was more than justified.

Exactly. Not only did the idiot in command of the unloading in Berdyansk put THREE ships with weapons and power supplies for unloading at the pier NEARBY in one place at the same time, but this was also shown openly on the news. Moreover, the ships were unloaded next to the fuel tankers at the pier. There, in theory, there are only violations for 100 years of prison. But all of them are like water off a duck's back. It's all gross.

Agree. It could explode there like in Halifax in 1917. The commanders of the ships are excused by the fact that they considered Berdyansk a rear zone and did not expect arrivals. But the higher command, of course, screwed up. However, the situation was determined by the "fog of war", for which the command should not be judged too harshly. People worked the best they could.

Saratov is still nonsense. Here is the situation with Moscow - that's interesting. The cruiser, the flagship, crammed full of missiles, ZAKs, means of setting DO and TL, somehow quickly deflated, burned out and sank. Simply unthinkable, given the insignificant anti-ship capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the peak of the Cold War, 1164-6 Harpoons were assigned to defeat cruisers pr.8 in the US Navy - only those that would break through missile defense. And in total, 40-50 of them were supposed to be launched across Atlanta in order to be guaranteed to break through the ship's missile defense system.

Why didn't he fire all of his main-caliber P-1000 Vulkan missiles at targets in the Odessa area? Such a ship in the war zone, at a launch range (up to 700 km), in theory, should constantly have a list of enemy targets to defeat and launch missiles as soon as there is a danger of losing the ship and / or missiles. In order to at least take revenge on the enemy.

Yes, the SVO showed the effectiveness of the weapon created back in the USSR - the Tochka-U OTRK, and the RF Armed Forces had to work hard to minimize losses from the use of these weapons by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not only in Berdyansk, but also in Donetsk, etc. The Black Sea Fleet it turns out, too, was not ready for such actions on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including both technically and personnel. Especially against the background of total operational and information support of NATO countries. It’s not worth looking for malicious intent, such a cost of the risks of this complex special operation, sadly. The enemy is the enemy, and he does not sleep.

It's always a shame that people are dying because of "hooray" orders!
Kingdom of Heaven to all OUR dead!
    ...........................................................................
A lot of noise about the "5th column", "red lines" and so on ...
The worst enemy is in the rear. When people die from stupidity and ostentation, like this, out of the blue - this is not just a crime. But everything is hushed up and hidden. They made some noise. Ai-yay-yay ... And then again - a jamb!
The command does not listen to the opinion of the lower command staff. "What? The smartest? Strategist?"
This is even the mildest censure...
As soon as any check arrives from M.O. - the "nix" begins in the military unit or base, headquarters!
    Why?
Because papers are written (as V.V.P. said - "... for the prosecutor...") in a terrible amount and with a great difference from reality. Hence the "bullshit". And if we take into account the article on non-disclosure and other "directives", which are directly by-laws, then there is no question of a normal analysis of the situation.
    Here's an example.
There are 2 radars on the ship ... It's scary to say - "MIUS" in the 21st century. They "burned" their resource a long time ago. But...
Specialists come on request. Each call for the cost of work is a military secret. At the pier - it sucks, but it shows something .... What does it show? Interference, interference and noise interference. In reality and the campaign - it started to rain and.
The command knows about this and ordered a new radar (you need the 2nd according to the rules, from the left and right sides), but ... If they ordered, they cannot receive it, because. components "hung" somewhere due to sanctions!
That. without a radar, under various circumstances and situations, the ship is blind and there is already a % chance of being stubborn or being stubbed by someone. And everything will be written off on the warhead-1, like they slammed, the observation was not carried out properly, etc., etc. And ... the command continues to send the ship on a campaign ...
And besides the radar, there are still problems ...
    That is how we live....

The year was silent and not everything was voiced as always. There's more loss That's who's to blame is still a mystery. Whose mistake?
    Eternal memory to the dead!

But the feat of women destroying drones in the bay of Sevastopol does not tell you anything? And this feat showed me a lot. As before, everything is full of holes if women destroyed drones from machine guns. without obstruction. The girls are great, no words, the authorities are on trial.

On the issue of air defense work in March last year. Protect military facilities during the conduct of hostilities, especially so close to these places. What was the command thinking?

Are you talking about air defense? And the explosion of the bridge, and the attacks from the sea? And the "Moscow"?

Everything was agreed as early as 1812. So they did.

Does this mean that the families of those who died or were injured a year ago will only now receive support from the state? Or is the almost official recognition in March 23rd only a statement of the fact of losses?
If the families of those who died a year ago were not considered to have lost their breadwinner, then this is very unfair.

There are no other ships. About five years ago, the court ruled that the decision to call for service of private individuals and specialists on August 8.08.08, XNUMX by the then commander of the Black Sea Fleet was illegal and, accordingly, the status of combatants for these people was not allowed. After such a frank scam, the private specialists refused to participate in any way in organizing the transportation or loading of anything in the interests of the Moscow Region, and the land Tor was unloaded onto the ship by the main logistics officer himself.
