One of the Hungarian oil and gas companies intends to receive Azerbaijani oil instead of Russian for its processing at its refinery

The Hungarian oil company MOL announced its intention to use Azerbaijani oil instead of Russian oil for its processing at its refinery in order to further use it for the production of various types of fuel. According to the press service of the company, this is due to the embargo on Russian oil products by the EU that came into force last month.

According to information provided by MOL, the first batch of Azeri Light black gold will arrive at the plant from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields on the Caspian shelf. The largest oil and gas company in Hungary is involved in their development.

First, oil was sent from the offshore field to the Sangachal terminal located near Baku, and from there it was pumped to the Turkish port on the Mediterranean Sea via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

Here is what follows from the MOL message:

From the Turkish port of Ceyhan, crude oil in the amount of 90 tons was delivered by tanker to the port of Omisalj in Croatia. Then it is transported via the Adriatic pipeline to the refinery of the Slovnaft company (it is a "daughter" of MOL), located in Slovakia

Also, MOL added that in the context of the current EU sanctions against oil products from the Russian Federation, there was a need to find more suppliers of "black gold".

Nevertheless, MOL stated that they would not refuse to import Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline, emphasizing that the security of the supply of this fuel in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe lies in providing alternative routes while maintaining traditional supply channels.

At first, the question arose about how miraculously oil from the Caspian would end up in Hungary.
    Through Tbilisi. From Baku.
Are there countries on the planet that, in the interests of THEIR economy and domestic politics, can quickly impose restrictions on business and social activities in relation to citizens of other countries?

90 thousand tons is about 650 thousand barrels. For 50 dollars. Approximately $32 million.
If there is no error in the calculations, then transfers from citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan from Russia to Georgia and Azerbaijan, respectively, must be blocked until additional declarations of sources of income are submitted for 60 million dollars for each of the countries. Weekly. And regardless of the currency and the amount of the transfer.

Roman you think too narrowly and primitively. Look wider. Have you ever thought that in order to circumvent sanctions, Russian oil and gas will go through the Azerbaijan pipeline? Have you thought about it?

50 mil. tons per year of "slurry" is the estimated capacity of the pipeline, but Baku does not produce so much now, their production debit has fallen by 15% over the 30 years since the launch of the "pipe" and now it is more than 35 million tons per year. The same 90 thousand tons shipped to the Hungarians is the daily production of Azerbaijan. Hungary, on the other hand, now consumes an average of 25 tons of oil per day; this shipment is not enough for them even for a week.

You did not take into account 2 new gas fields + Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will fit in tankers. Azerbaijan is building tankers, and if I'm not mistaken, 2 tankers are already ready. But I guarantee Russian gas and oil will also go through the Baku pipe. My father and wife are in the oil sector.

I agree, but if there are talks, then the pipe will be filled, the question is how? and who? Only the Russian pipe is connected to the Azerbaijan one.

So the ears of the Anglo-Saxons were drawn, as usual oil. The reason for the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan for Nagorno-Karabakh. The safety of the English oil pipeline.
The most important thing is that Russia works like a Triteian judge, it doesn’t interfere anywhere. But it knows the whole alignment of forces. bully

Again, you don't think right. After the war, Azerbaijan and Russia signed a number of documents on allied relations, including military alliance agreements. Further

Do you think the war in Karabakh would have started without Russian support for Azerbaijan? And now, if you don't understand, Russian gas and oil goes to Azerbaijan and from there to Europe.

Everything is much simpler, the reason is the "inadequate" behavior of Hungary! Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline goes smoothly anywhere .... just not to Hungary! Ukrtransneft stopped transporting oil to Hungary under the pretext of "shelling" by Russia of the transformer station, which provides electricity to the pumping station of the Druzhba oil pipeline and is located near the border of Ukraine with Belarus!

Maybe it's time to show the rigidity within the country not only to foreign critics, but also to those who earn money in Russia, and the earnings go to other countries? And this is not about the monetary Central Bank, but about the real economy of the lower level.

      1. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia reached $2022 billion in 3,71, which is 23,9% more than in 2021

      2. In the nine months of this year, the trade turnover between Russia and Turkey was more than twice as large and amounted to $47 billion.

Do you propose to dry up these sources and become enemies? Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world that has very good relations with Russia, did you think that Russian oil and gas would go through this pipe, bypassing sanctions?

This is a very small amount. Complicated logistics. I think this event is more demonstrative in nature. The volume we supply to the EU will not be so easy to replace.

supplied and not supplied. Now if there is export, then it is minuscule. But Europe wants Russian gas and oil in other ways, and Azerbaijan helps in this. All this so that chess players in the United States do not bark at Europe.
