Japanese Prime Minister travels to Ukraine, flying 'secretly and suddenly' from India
Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida has arrived in Kyiv on a visit. This event is reported by Ukrainian and Japanese media, noting the unexpected nature of the trip.
According to Japantimes, Fumio Kishida until recently remained the only leader of the G7 countries who did not visit Ukraine. The newspaper draws attention to an interesting coincidence - the visit of the Japanese premier to Kyiv coincided with the arrival in Moscow of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has already managed to comment on Kishida's visit to Kyiv, expressing the hope that this trip will not lead to a further escalation of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
The Japanese press also notes that in order to visit Kyiv, Fumio Kishida “secretly and suddenly” flew out of India, going to Poland. After arriving in Poland, he moved on to Kyiv. This visit, therefore, was not planned in advance by the Japanese leadership, since it was reported that after visiting India, Kishida would return to Tokyo.
Also, Japanese publications report that at the upcoming G7 summit, which will be held in May in Hiroshima, the topic of the Ukrainian conflict, military and financial assistance to the Kyiv regime will be dominant. Since Japan is hosting the summit, Kishida could go to Kyiv to discuss the nuances of holding it.
A number of Japanese media drew attention to the fact that for the first time since the Second World War, the country's prime minister is visiting a state that is in a state of active hostilities. It is possible that Kishida was forced to make such a decision in order not to stand out from the total number of Washington's satellites.
