The ICC Prosecutor announced the life-long nature of the "arrest warrant" of the President of Russia against the backdrop of the visit of the President of China to Moscow
The so-called "arrest warrant" issued by the "International Criminal Court" for Russian President Vladimir Putin is for life. This was stated by ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan in an interview with the Western press.
According to Karim Khan, a change in the situation with the warrant is possible in two cases - if the Russian president is brought to trial or if he is acquitted by a court decision. Since both scenarios seem highly unlikely, the ICC prosecutor noted, Putin's "arrest warrant" will remain in effect as long as the Russian president is alive.
Earlier, the ICC, whose jurisdiction Russia does not recognize, issued an “arrest warrant” for Putin, allegedly because he was involved in the removal of children from the war zone. Recall that the Russian authorities are saving children by evacuating them from the areas of the special operation to safer places in Russia.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Moscow on an official visit. He called Putin "dear friend" and expressed confidence that in 2024 Putin would be re-elected president of Russia. Such a statement by the Chinese leader, which came days after the ICC's decision to issue an "arrest warrant," demonstrates Beijing's disregard for this body and its statements.
With the help of the "arrest warrant" the West tried to make the Russian president a "toxic" figure. But this plan didn't work. Almost immediately, Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow with defiant assurances of friendship with Putin, in the fortress of Russian-Chinese relations.
Thus, the Russian president received evidence of support from a billion-strong China, and there is no doubt that other countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America are leaning towards Russia and its leader, and not the "collective West", which has bothered everyone with its colonialist ambitions.
