Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow.
During the meeting of heads of state, the Russian leader spoke of the symbolism that Xi Jinping's first visit to Moscow took place exactly ten years ago. The President of Russia also noted that over these ten years China has made a significant breakthrough in its economic development, which is of genuine interest throughout the world. Putin also congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election to the highest state post in China, and also noted the effectiveness of the Chinese economy and public administration system.
The Russian leader also noted that the Russian government had carefully studied the plan proposed by the Chinese authorities for resolving the armed conflict in Ukraine. The Russian President pointed out that China's plan is guided by the principles of justice and takes into account full respect for the fundamental principles of international law, as well as indivisible security for all countries.
The Chinese President stressed that, just like ten years ago, he chose Russia for his first foreign visit after being re-elected.
Xi Jinping:
The Chinese leader expressed confidence that the Russian people will support the incumbent head of state in his good undertakings in the presidential elections to be held in 2024.
Xi Jinping also noted that Russia and China have similar goals in terms of security, equal partnership, and the protection of traditional values, and expressed his appreciation for the tangible support provided to China over the past years of development and construction.
