Official Chisinau does not rule out the possibility of Gazprom stopping gas supplies to the country
Chisinau does not rule out the possibility of Gazprom cutting off gas supplies to the country. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Moldova Victor Parlicov, on the air of one of the Moldovan TV channels.
Here is how the official commented on the situation:
In this context, he also mentioned the agreements existing between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) and Moldova, according to which the Republic of Moldova (RM) cedes to Pridnestrovie the entire volume of gas offered by the Russian gas holding, receiving in return electricity from the left bank of the Dniester along preferential prices.
– stressed the head of the energy department.
At the same time, according to the minister, the possibility of terminating the contract between JSC Moldovagaz and PJSC Gazprom still remains, adding that in any case, about 250 thousand people on the left bank of the Dniester, who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova, will have to be supported.
Recall that earlier the head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Cheban, stated that it was allegedly unprofitable for Moldova to purchase blue fuel from the Russian energy giant because of its high cost, emphasizing that the country purchases it from traders offering more attractive prices than Gazprom . True, it is also surprising that the gas tariff for the end consumer has not yet been reduced, which clearly indicates the craftiness of the Moldovan authorities in relation to their people.
