U.S. Congress submits bill to withdraw U.S. military from Syria
30
US Republican Congressman Matt Goetz submitted a draft resolution to the House of Representatives, according to which it is supposed to oblige President Joe Biden to withdraw troops from Syria.
According to the information available to the congressman, despite the absence of a corresponding sanction from the US authorities, the contingent of American troops in Syria has 900 troops.
The Republican's statement claims that the US Congress has not authorized the kinetic presence of US military personnel in Syria.
Under current US law, the status of bills affecting matters relating to the conduct of hostilities obliges members of the House of Representatives to put it to a vote within 18 days after the date of introduction.
The reason for the submission to Congress by a member of the Republican Party of a draft resolution on the withdrawal of American troops from Syria was an incident in which four members of the US Army were injured during a raid aimed at eliminating one of the leaders of the Islamic State* (*terrorist organization banned in the territory of RF).
The congressman also stressed that the slogan "America first" suggests the desire to put the citizens of their country first, and not the interests of companies that are part of the military-industrial complex.
