The Ukrainian army is preparing to receive the French "wheeled tanks"AMX-10RC. The first batch of armored fighting vehicles has already left for Ukraine. This is reported by the French press.

France sent Kyiv the first batch of armored vehicles AMX-10RC, it included 14 "wheeled tanks". The Armed Forces of Ukraine are looking forward to the arrival of French armored vehicles, the crews for it have already been trained, the training took place on the territory of France at the cavalry school of Saumur.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of the AMX-10RC in early January of this year, promising to send the first batch of armored vehicles to Ukraine in the first half of February. Macron did not name the total number of wheeled tanks promised to Zelensky for "security reasons". However, various sources, including French ones, claim that Paris will not allocate more than 30 units to Kyiv.

According to military experts, it was France that pushed NATO to start deliveries of heavy armored vehicles, including tanks, to Ukraine by announcing the transfer of the AMX-10RC. This armored vehicle was created as a means of tracking enemy tanks and, in fact, is not a tank. But the presence of a 105-mm caliber gun made it possible to formally classify it as a "light tank".

The French Ministry of Defense does not hide the fact that by transmitting data to Ukrainian armored vehicles, they simply get rid of them, since this outdated equipment is being removed from service, being replaced by new armored reconnaissance and combat vehicles (EBRC) Jaguar. However, Kyiv is happy about this against the background of large losses of armored vehicles in battles, especially for free. The only inconvenience is that the AMX-10RC gun uses a certain type of ammunition (105x527R), conventional 105 mm NATO shells are not suitable for it.

    It will not work to use AMX10 as in "Desert Storm" for deep breakthroughs, the RF Armed Forces are still better in anti-tank weapons than Saddam's army.
