Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov commented on the problem of settling the Transnistrian conflict. As the head of the diplomatic mission noted, Russia will continue to assist on the path to a peaceful and fair settlement of the Transnistrian issue, while observing the principle of the territorial integrity of Moldova.

Russia is the guarantor of peace and stability in the Transnistrian region. All these actions constantly require increased responsibility from us, while the Russian side is fully aware of this. We will continue to promote the search for a fair solution to the Transnistrian problem by reaching compromises and agreements on a special, reliable and guaranteed status of the PMR, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova
