Sergey Lavrov, who is on a visit to Sudan, confirmed the signing of an agreement on the establishment of a logistics center for the Russian Navy on the Red Sea coast

Today, February 9, a visit to the capital of Sudan, the city of Khartoum, was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The head of the foreign policy department is visiting not the first country in Africa as part of his "southern" tour.

Sergei Lavrov held talks with the top leadership of Sudan, including Acting Foreign Minister As-Sadiq Ali, Chairman of the country's Supreme Council A. Burkhan.

Among the many topics discussed was the creation of a Russian logistics center (MTO) in a large Sudanese port fleet. We are talking about Port Sudan, which is located on the coast of the Red Sea and is extremely important as its location.

Earlier, there was information that Russia plans to create a logistics center for the Navy in Sudan, but various representatives of the country's authorities either confirmed or denied the creation of such a base.

Sergei Lavrov, answering a question from one of the journalists during a press conference, noted that the agreement on the establishment of a logistics center for the Russian Navy on the Red Sea in Sudan had been signed and that the procedure for its ratification had already been launched.

For reference: Port Sudan is located in the middle part of the western coast of the Red Sea, so to speak, "opposite" Saudi Jeddah. The presence of Russian logistics in this port will make it possible to organize the provision of Russian ships during long-distance cruises, for example, with passages from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean and vice versa.

It is for the sake of the safety of navigation of the Merchant Fleet of the Russian Federation that this base is needed. Over the past year, Russian companies have purchased about 500 large ocean-class ships, so now even through reluctance, corrupt admirals will still have to build the Navy. Therefore, contracts for new frigates will be signed again this year - business requires protection.

Taki in the White House for sure

The White House is unpleasant, of course, but tolerable - they are sure that there will be a cure. Now "burning" in the governments of Great Britain and Israel. Right there, yes.

It’s a good place, US carriers are considered returning or going to the Persian Gulf, and it’s not far to visit the Saudis.

You can breathe back. The Sudanese have been fooling their heads with this PMO for 2 years already. What Lavrov said as streamlined as possible
and that the procedure for its ratification is currently running

For 2 years, the ratification procedure has been launched, completely launched.

I think that the naval base is a secondary task. First of all, Russia needs a reliable transit point for cargo to African countries. You never know who and how the Americans will pay for the arrest of Russian transport. And the base of the Russian Navy is a good guarantee against American lawlessness.

An aircraft carrier is not my inflatable boat, which I pumped out the air, put it in the trunk - and it's gone.
Aircraft carriers, I think, can be perfectly counted from a satellite.
      I'm about a friend.
As I understand it, this MTO point is needed so that our warship or some dry cargo ship sailing from Sevastopol to, say, India, fills in kerosene, loads more stews with pasta, etc. A thing, of course, necessary.
Do we have many of these around the world? Is this supposed to be classified information? And how do our ships manage on long trips where there is no one to buy from? I do not mean the ocean crossing, but the fact that some even for money will not want to give what we need. I mean that, as it seems to me, the same British, for example, if necessary, are unlikely to pour kerosene into our cruiser. Well, this is just like an example of a relationship - without taking into account distances and other things.

I somehow got used to in the army that these issues were resolved in our country by the "mother" - Mi-8. Water-food, BC, "XNUMXth" - "XNUMXth" - all the support was on the "spinners". And how these things in the fleet will be decided on VERY long trips - somehow I didn’t think before.

Many, many - one in Tartus.

The Navy carries tankers with it. And they generally have the right to enter civilian ports freely.

Sudan is a very problematic state, a republic. Has "graters" with Egypt according to the so-called. "Halaib Triangle" ("Halaib Triangle" is a disputed area of 20 km² on the border of Egypt and Sudan). Also with South Sudan (there is one): Abyei District in Warab in South Kordofan, controlled by Sudan. In accordance with the Naivasha Agreement, the status of the territory should be determined by referendum. Sudan: Abyei District in Waraba in South Kordofan, controlled by Sudan, the status of the territory to be determined by referendum, the territory is contested by South Sudan, but controlled by the Northern government. In the Darfur region, not everything is "destroyed".
Since 2020, in power temporary military council.
"Earlier, there was information that Russia plans to create a logistics center for the Navy in Sudan, but various representatives of the country's authorities either confirmed or denied the creation of such a base."
Of course, the PMTO point for the Russian Navy will not be superfluous, the main thing is that there is no need to "turn off the economy" at least in the medium term. winked

The base will be completely separated from other objects for many thousands of kilometers. The usefulness of such bases in building their chains, and this, in turn, denotes certain global interests. Now we just want to stick a column in the middle of an "open field" in a frankly dumb region at a great distance from our borders.
What is the purpose of this idea? It's not done for fun. There should be some kind of multi-year development plan under this - what are we going to do there?

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, a wild budget deficit has formed, for which they decided to "shake" big business ...
What amazes me is that the end-edge is not visible to the NWO, there are big problems with the fleet ensuring the security of its borders (even according to the materials of this publication), export earnings are sharply reduced - but no, of course we will think about a base in the Red Sea. Magical, magical..

No, in general, the idea is NOT BAD, but it is, as they say, for growth and is clearly on the border of any adequate planning. Purely theoretically, of course, we need a presence along the borders of Eurasia and even in Africa - BUT we would need all this if our internal state. construction was now sharpened to intercept part of the markets for finished products on the production of Eurasia and Africa, from the same Europe, the USA, Japan (and yes, China). If we had some ambitions with a powerful backing from a large-scale and ALREADY launched plan to become the 4th world economy, for example.
Then yes, I would say that we need such an infra. But not at the moment. Now it is not just redundant, it looks like a Mercedes badge on the hood of Zaporozhets.

It doesn't look like a healthy idea.

This is not a full-fledged base of the Navy, it is only a logistics center for the fleet. But...
I don't understand, where are all these adherents of "insidious red lines"? This is the real brazen crossing of "red lines" by the Russian Federation. And what, no one notices?? Or do we consider "crossing red lines" only a nuclear strike on Washington, London, Warsaw and Brussels at the same time? And everything else - does not roll?!
And this is the "crossing of red lines", although not in line with the expectations of teenagers. Even if it remains at the declaration level. It's like Lavrov walking up to Boris Johnson at a diplomatic reception and kicking him in the groin. Fu do it! I wonder if Boris has children? "Red Line" i.e. The Red Sea for Britain just corresponds to the inguinal region, and we go there with a boot.
Or maybe someone thinks that the news "Our troops took Kyiv today" is worse for Britain? But the surprise - never! For Britain, Kyiv is like the village of Novye Vasyuki for Ostap Bender. You need to come there and hold a session of a simultaneous chess game with local amateurs on the Grand Chessboard, promise to organize an international tournament, collect money and dump into the sunset before you get beaten.
That's what Kyiv is for Britain. And the Red Sea is a completely different collision. This is their domain.
And it was not easy for Lavrov to do this - he had to get the "go-ahead" from both Egypt and the Saudis. Otherwise, this statement would not exist at all.
Where are you - adherents of "insidious red lines"? Ayy! Didn't notice anything?
