Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova: The decision to block Russian-language TV channels in the country will be challenged in the ECtHR

The Executive Secretary of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), Vice Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Vlad Batrincha, stated that neither the Commission for Emergency Situations under the Government of the Republic, nor the Coordinating Council for Television and Radio (CCA) could not provide legal grounds that fell under banning opposition TV channels in the country. According to the deputy chairman of the Moldovan legislature, the decision to block them will in any case be challenged in the ECtHR.

Here is how the politician commented on this situation:

The fact is that these TV channels could not cover the position of the Russian Federation in any way, since we have long had a ban on the broadcasting of analytical and information programs from Russia at the legislative level. The authorities, under some far-fetched pretext of information propaganda, took and came up with this wording, which does not fit into the framework of national, and even more so international law.

Moreover, according to Batryncha, the fate of the TV channels, in respect of which the ban was introduced, is actually a foregone conclusion, since during the entire time of litigation, they will simply be closed for everything, while for the advertising market this will be an excellent opportunity to redistribute those close to power among themselves. channels.

It should be reminded that at the end of December last year, the Commission for Emergency Situations suspended the licenses of 6 Russian-language TV channels in Moldova, including: “First in Moldova”, “RTR-Moldova” and others. motivating this decision with allegedly distorted coverage of events in connection with the conflict in Ukraine, which caused outrage among the Moldovan opposition and the public.

Note: on our TV, they simply CONSTANTLY turn to information from European and American media in order to find out how the situation is covered there, excerpts, quotes and broadcasting of their TV programs are constantly posted ... and it is forbidden by law to know and broadcast the point of view of Russia.
    Isn't that weird?
At the same time, a country of lack of freedom and tyranny, gagging and violence against an alternative point of view - for some reason we still have it :)))

it turns out that we also have a different point of view - "it is forbidden by law."
