Rostec: Tests of smoke grenades protecting against high-precision missiles have been completed

State tests of grenades to protect against strikes by guided high-precision missiles have been carried out. This was reported in the state corporation "Rostec".

Special grenades are designed to protect personnel and equipment from missile strikes. With the help of grenades, a cloud impenetrable to thermal imaging devices is created.

Hand grenade RDG-U, providing camouflage of personnel and equipment in the infrared range from high-precision weaponssuccessfully passed state tests

- quotes RIA News message of the state corporation "Rostec".

It is known about the universal hand-held smoke grenade that it was developed by specialists of TsNIItochmash, which is part of the Kalashnikov concern.

The grenade is designed to protect against infrared guided missiles. It is also capable of protecting against missiles with thermal imaging aiming. Currently, TsNIITochmash is preparing the relevant documentation, after the completion of which it will be possible to proceed to trial operation of the RDG-U in military units, and then to mass production.

The grenade works as follows: when triggered in the air, a smoke-forming composition creates an instant curtain. A special element allows you to feed the curtain for a long time, which ensures protection against missile strikes. The grenade is capable of maintaining its effectiveness in the temperature range from minus 50 to plus 25 degrees. Grenade body diameter - 54 mm, length - 200 mm. This grenade weighs 700 g.

Such a grenade and assault units will not hurt.
You can change positions under cover of smoke. And you can blind the enemy indoors. 700 grams is heavy. Isn't it possible to put such a grenade in a grenade launcher?

so there are simple smokes and smoke grenades, such as RGD2
Isn't it possible to put such a grenade in a grenade launcher?

For a grenade launcher for a hundred years there is VDG-40 at lunch

You probably still meant VG-40MD (multi-purpose smoke) or VG-40 DZ (smoky incendiary)?

To do this, there is a whole arsenal of hand grenades - "Dawn"; "Flame"; "Torch"; "Drifting"
On the other hand, why does an attack aircraft soldier need a grenade weighing 700 grams, you can run around with it. And yet, you need to have time to apply it when it flies at you
a missile with infrared guidance or with thermal imaging aiming.

Anto sho? Smoke your position? belay Something...........................................

In all wars, starting from WW1, the designation of targets, enemy positions with smoke (!) ... (smoke "markers") .... came into practice!

That's what I'm talking about. Previously, the enemy was marked with smoke, now they themselves. Manual + 700 g. I (wow). I saw a rocket or projectile flying at you, throw 700 grams.
What's this? And this is the corporation "Kalashnikov", a recently known laundry.

I remembered a song from my childhood - "Sixteen tons".
This news about the Rostec smoke grenade inspired me with a new verse for this song:
I was born in the morning on a cloudy day
I took a grenade and went to the trench
I threw a grenade at a flying projectile
            And Rostec bosses praised me

Here I am about that ... You can imagine the "picture"! The unit took a position in the trenches ... no one shoots (the enemy may not even know that "someone" has dug in there!) But some of the dug-in decided to "overdo it" (or imagined "something" ... ) and ordered to "throw himself" with smoke grenades! The enemy, having found a "hint", happily covers the positions with artillery or MLRS ...unmanaged ! It is necessary to own the "culture" of using concealers! For example, Omar Khayyam, "praising" wine, at the same time said: "you need to know when and with whom, and how much ..."; that is, about the "culture of use" (!) ... and the "culture" must be had ... it must be learned! It's one thing to cover a moving convoy of equipment, or at least a single vehicle ... or a "stationary" radar station from "harm", at the worst (!) ... and another thing is to designate your positions!

The difference between a marker and a smoke screen is like between a finger and (another part of the body). How can a hand grenade put up a curtain that shields electronic signals for a specific flying missile? Well, they never even put up smoke screens with hand grenades! And even more so, there were no hand grenades for electromagnetic curtains against missiles flying in real time. Well, if you really want to, then create an automatic grenade launcher with automatic guidance based on the same AGS-30, but not hand grenades that will unmask the fighters at a time, and nothing more.

That's right! This is like the Vigilant Falcon, which is "capable" of seeing a "high-precision" missile tens of kilometers away and having time to throw a couple of "miracle smoke grenades"! belay And if you estimate how many meters from yourself you can throw a "seven hundred" ... then what can a grenade protect an ent from? stop

Ahem... hiding from detection with smoke is several hundred years old.
The same tanks and infantry fighting vehicles without "Clouds" - nowhere. The "Shtora" in the "anti-laser" channel has smoke grenades with automatic firing. And I still don’t remember about all sorts of machines with smoke exhaust systems. smile

If we take the RDG specifically mentioned in the article - a hand smoke grenade - then it is already 70 years old. It was developed back in the USSR in the 50s and since then has only changed the filling, adapting to shelter from new threats.
RDG-2 is a Soviet hand-held smoke grenade designed as an individual tool for creating smoke zones in order to mask individual firing points, small units, blind the enemy, and also to simulate a fire in military equipment. It can also be used to indicate helicopter landing sites and indicate wind direction and strength for them.

There is no secret in this grenade. The whole question is how it works. If it is manually activated, then its efficiency will be about zero. If automatically, how? As a result of irradiation with a laser rangefinder? Well then, not so much either. Many ATGMs are induced without using laser irradiation. If based on radar, then the chance of protection is great. If based on a radar and a laser irradiation sensor, then this will be a good solution. There is no information, but I hope it will be a reliable system, and not another analogue, no cost like a destroyer

          good
You seem to be in the subject, don’t tell me why in tanks an aerosol cloud is created alone at a short distance from the tank (it hides the tank from the operator more), I think it also needs to be right above the tank to hide from the GOS to the last.
PS the title of the article is not accurate, there are many high-precision weapons and they are different, and grenades will help from a limited list of these weapons. I already thought they came up with a child prodigy from the Himars.

When you need to slip through a dangerous area, you don’t think about how to open fire. I would like to stay alive myself. This is not a game where you can re-enter the battle. The psychology of a fighter is even more than all the training. You can be at least as cool in the exercises, but then get into a tank and go into battle, where there are already wrecked tanks. How to force yourself to kill a person point-blank. How to calmly destroy a car from an RPG, where it is packed full of people. How to storm the trenches. This is not taught in any training. We do not deal with these issues at all. The last time we systematically worked on recruits during the Second World War

And until 1990. With its own specifics, of course, taking into account the newly appeared VUS and new opportunities for medical and psychological selection.
It is impossible to give a VUS fighter without a "system". ... Although "impossible" does not mean impossible.

It would be nice to come up with a change in the positioning of the terrain against GPS-guided projectiles, simply taking them away from the target. Something like a powerful sector type emitter.

Technically impossible solution. Well, if only aliens can. Turning off the GPS satellites above the military theater is easier. Well, it's easier. Even if we collect all the capabilities of the United States, Russia, China and the EU, even then it will not be enough to destroy the satellite constellation. But this solution is much easier than suppressing the signal

Seems to me that the Russian journalists are out of control and are damaging the operation in Ukraine by braodcasting technical information that should be kept as secret as possible. This is the Nth time that i see such givaways of our techniques. Where is the government and the military, why can't they shut them up?

Fraudsters are not scammers ... But they cut the loot in such a way that one can only marvel at the mind and ability to produce products in pieces and accounting units at a low cost ... Although, where does it come from:
The CEO of Rostec Sergey Chemezov in 2021 earned 632,2 million rubles., follows from the declaration published on the website of the state corporation. According to the document, Chemezov owns several land plots and residential buildings; apartment with an area of 385,6 sq. m, as well as several commercial non-residential premises. The income of Chemezov's wife Ekaterina Ignatova last year amounted to 6,8 bn. Rub. She owns four plots, three residential buildings with an area of more than 3000 square meters. m, two apartments and several garages and non-residential premises.

        Or two years earlier:
The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, published his income statement for 2019. Together with his wife and minor child, he earned a little less than 2 billion rubles.
The declaration of income and property of Chemezov is posted on the website of the state corporation headed by him. So, Chemezov himself earned more than 403 million rubles in a year. Another 1,5 billion rubles of income came from his wife Ekaterina Ignatov. And Chemezov's minor child brought almost 19 million rubles to the family budget.

Few of you have managed to earn 19 rubles in your entire life, have you?

Explain to me how a fighter knows that high-precision ammunition is flying in his direction, and even if he notices this, how fast it flies and whether the fighter will have time to get a grenade and use it, or you constantly have to live and fight in the smoke of which, and so on the battlefield enough.

Good thing. In general, they somehow forgot about the use of smoke screens and so on. miracles based on smoke and aerosols, but in vain. Cheap and efficient.
The ideal option - a helicopter flies in a cloud of smoke with a radius of 50 meters. He sees through the smoke, but he is not.
