Elon Musk's company introduced restrictions on the use of the Starlink system by military drones in Ukraine

The American company SpaceX decided to limit the availability of Starlink communications for the Ukrainian military. Recall that earlier the head of the company, Elon Musk, announced that he was not ready to continue financing the satellite communications kits delivered to Ukraine and, turning to the Pentagon, suggested that the US military department do this from its (Pentagon's) huge budget. However, then Musk decided to change his mind, and funding still continued from the company's budget.

Now SpaceX President Gwynn Shotwell has pointed out that the company has imposed restrictions on the use of the satellite communications system for military UAVs in Ukraine. Drones found themselves without connection to the Starlink system.

At the same time, Shotwell explained the position of the company as follows:

The Starlink communication system was not developed by specialists in order to eventually turn into weapon. There are tools that we can use to ensure that our system is not used in this format. And we used these tools.

According to the president of the company, Starlink management has created conditions under which the satellite communications provided by SpaceX would not be used as an offensive weapon.

Thus, Shotwell actually made it clear that Ukrainian drones that flew deep into Russia (for example, reaching Engels) could use the Starlink system to one degree or another.

Recall that the other day a Ukrainian drone was shot down in the Kaluga region. He carried on board a high-explosive fragmentation bomb with a significant mass charge. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

SpaceX decided to limit the availability of Starlink communications for the Ukrainian military.
This is certainly good, but the adoption of such a decision was probably influenced not by the "peaceful" position of the company, but by the financial side. But how long will this restriction be in effect and will it not work out, like last time with Musk and the Pentagon?

rotmistr60 hi, if this function is important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then a hundred pounds of Kyiv will go to Washington for Mask and Co., and there a formidable roar, a hint of a criminal case in connection with the "jambs" when buying Twitter and voila, everything will work again.

Don't give a damn about this Musk and the corrupt capitalist system, in which the thirst for profit is above all.
And one should take into account the frequent proposals both in public speeches, and from the military, and the incident with the Chinese balloon ... The proposal to shoot down reconnaissance spacecraft over Russian territory and in the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbSVO, referring them to enemy reconnaissance means.

And they will bring down ours - over the USA and NATO ...
        And then what?
        Dead end?
We will suffer more - our satellites are simply smaller

what are you grinding? legally, outer space is international. But the airspace is sovereign. Therefore, the action of the Americans with the Chinese balloon is correct, such as our example with Powers' U-2 in 1960. Denying objectivity for the sake of slogans is cheap populism.

I, now I think that they will restore the connection as cute. This has already been passed. The money will be received or forced. Where is our effective countermeasures? Where are our companions? Let's hope that "there" conscience will appear? The question is rhetorical.

He did not betray Russia - he is not a citizen of Russia, not a brother to us and not a friend.
He betrayed himself because he was afraid for his carcass.
I don't know - maybe there really was something to be afraid of. Or maybe just money. In any case, last time he did his best and now there is no hope for his stamina.

He didn't betray anyone, he just ran a business. The first dose is free, now he's getting paid for Starlink. If you want to use Starlink as a strategic UAV control system, then I ask you to pay according to a separate price list, but this is not possible. Well, they didn't introduce any new restrictions, Starlink's accessibility zone moves dumb with the front. Thus, Starlinks do not work from our side of the front. This means that UAVs will not work with them. Musk does not yet have permission from the State Department or the Ministry of Communications to work in Russia.

The Pentagon has nothing to do with Starlink and its pricing at all. In general, he distances himself in every possible way from Starlink and saws his IEO Internet with the help of Lockheed. Now Kyiv is paid by Starlink, the EU and Poland

It’s not clear about the downing of a UAV over the Kaluga region. They wrote that the TU-141 caught on the Christmas trees. Christmas trees played the function of air defense wassat
The second plopped down right in Ukraine. Didn't fly anywhere. It would be nice to nail someone and detonate

In different countries, the border of the beginning of space is considered differently. This is also a problem.

The starlink leadership is wary of starwars. But everything that is publicly declared from the other side should be closed. It has long been clear that Russia has no friends in the US and the West. It's just that there are those who want to deal with Russia with a swoop and those who will lie and stick a knife in the back, pretending to be friends. You can only count on yourself. And the commonwealth with independent states and treaties on collective security should be on a mutually beneficial basis. It is necessary to get rid of illusions and stop paying forward to countries pursuing a covert Russophobic policy.

Apparently, Elon Musk, to put it mildly, is not happy with the fact that then economic sanctions from Russia can hit him. Plus, the Ukrainians I'm a complete moron --> blew 1 Starlink terminal. Constant problems from cyber attacks. Moreover, the Russian market is generally very tasty. Plus, the local president doesn't suffer from bullshit. 100 thousand sanctions are not introduced. Apparently, Russian diplomats talked to this monsieur. Hinted what's what. Elon listened

Terminals in free sale. Tens of thousands of terminals have been delivered to Ukraine. The Russian market may be delicious, but even OniWeb was not allowed to visit us. Who went for everything, but in the end he was thrown in the most stupid way.

And what? The guidance system is part of the weapon. And if she, this part of the weapon, is in the international space and attacks our country from there, she is completely subject to destruction. Well, if only the peacefulness and good will of our commander-in-chief does not interfere.
