Ukrainian media: Loading of the M-113 armored personnel carrier began in Spain to send the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Seriously concerned about the successful offensive actions of the Russian army, especially in the Donbass, Kyiv's Western allies are frankly in a hurry to provide military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the suggestion of Washington, NATO countries are racing to give Ukraine literally the last of their arsenals. So the royal armed forces of Spain, until recently unnoticed in large deliveries of weapons to Kyiv, hastened to send for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the American M-113 armored personnel carriers repeatedly promised by the Ministry of Defense.
Ukrainian media and telegram channels report that Madrid has already begun loading these armored personnel carriers in the amount of 20 units for shipment to Ukraine. Moreover, part of the armored personnel carriers will be transferred to the modification of a self-propelled mortar.
The intention to send M-113 armored vehicles to Kyiv free of charge was announced by the Spanish Ministry of Defense back in August last year, then this information was confirmed in early February of this year.
The M-113 armored personnel carrier is a US-made tracked armored personnel carrier that has long been the main armored personnel carrier of the American army. The Spanish army is armed with armored personnel carriers M-113, converted into a variant with the installation of a Spanish-made 120-mm ECIA L65 / 120 mortar. A mortar of a different caliber or model can be installed inside the vehicle. The basic armament of the M-113 is the 12,7 mm M2HB machine gun.
Armored personnel carriers M-113 are already used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the fighting. Moreover, in Russian public pages you can find a lot of messages, photo and video evidence of very unflattering content about the qualities of this car.
There are shots of how the M-113 is trying to start its colleague, which has suddenly stalled in an open field, “with a pusher”. In another video, an undamaged armored personnel carrier was simply abandoned by Ukrainians for unknown reasons in a forest plantation.
Another photo shows a completely burnt-out American armored personnel carrier, or rather, one of its modifications, shot down at the end of January near Bakhmut (Artemovsk).
Many of these armored vehicles have been destroyed by our military over the past few months in other directions. There is even footage of a Russian drone sending a bomb straight into the hatch of an American armored vehicle. And although as a result the armored personnel carrier itself was almost not injured outside, the crew is unlikely to have survived after such a sniper throw by our operator.
