The Netherlands will finance the repair and supply of German Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine
The Netherlands again declared its support for Ukraine in its fight against "aggressive Russia" and its readiness to support Kyiv financially. The lack of armored vehicles for the transfer of the Ukrainian army does not greatly upset Amsterdam, the Dutch decided to invest money.
The Netherlands announced its readiness to pay for the repair and delivery of the first series Leopard MBT to Ukraine, we are talking about a hundred tanks. In addition to the Netherlands themselves, Germany and Denmark will participate in the delivery. The role of Denmark is a little unclear, she will also sponsor the dispatch of tanks from the presence of Germany, or will nevertheless supply some of her own. Both options are possible.
The Netherlands also promised to train Ukrainian tankers, supply spare parts for tanks and ammunition. This was stated by the head of the military department of the country, Kaisa Ollongren, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wopke Gukstra, speaking in the House of Representatives of the country's parliament.
Ollongren said.
Earlier, the German government gave permission for the supply of Leopard 1 tanks to Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft mbH (FFG), which have about 187 heavy armored vehicles for two. These tanks will be restored and transferred to Ukraine, and the Netherlands will sponsor this process, since this is not the first time for them. Earlier, Amsterdam financed the modernization of Soviet T-72 tanks for Kyiv from the presence of the Czech army.
