Russia has developed a new transport drone TRAMP, which allows delivering goods over long distances

In Russia, work continues on the creation of new unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, including transport ones, capable of delivering the necessary cargo over a considerable distance without human intervention. A source in the Russian defense industry spoke about the new development in this area.

The new drone is classified as aviation platform, hence its name, consonant with the name of one of the American presidents - TrAMP. The abbreviation stands for "transport aviation multifunctional platform". An aircraft-type drone, thanks to its chassis, is able to land and take off from short, poorly prepared areas. The main purpose is the delivery of goods weighing up to 250 kg. As the source explained, upon reaching the place of delivery, the drone drops the cargo to a given point by parachute.



У drone a large cargo compartment with a volume of 2 liters, which allows you to place bulky cargo in it. The flight range is declared at 650 km, cruising speed - 600 km / h and the ceiling - 195 thousand meters. The drone can be used both as an agricultural vehicle and a military one, by installing various equipment in the compartment, since the dimensions allow. And the downward-opening doors of the cargo hatch make it possible to use the Tramp as a bomber for pinpoint strikes on enemy positions.

It is also possible to install radar, optical, cartographic and other special equipment for observation in the compartment. Downward-opening cargo bay doors allow shock payloads to be suspended

      A drone is good, but not all cargo can be delivered safely by "parachute method". It would be nice to have the opportunity for an aircraft and both a soft landing and the actual take-off. Using a scheme like that of a helicopter or a quadcopter is not enough, the flight distance is too short, here it is already desirable to use the principle implemented in more modern devices, such as tiltrotor aircraft, it will definitely work out both cheaply and cheerfully, and the flight range will really increase.
