The President of Belarus announced the emergence of new currency unions

In the near future, new strong monetary unions may form in the world, using a new reserve currency. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

During the meeting, which discussed the draft law on changes in the country's legislation governing banking, Lukashenka noted that a new system of mutual settlements is currently being formed, including in international trade. The Belarusian leader stressed that changes in this system are long overdue.

The President of Belarus also expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the government of the country and representatives of the national banking system in the field of foreign trade operations, namely, difficulties with the passage of payments. According to him, Belarus is one of the few countries that guarantees the return of deposits of any size and in any currency in full in case of insolvency of banking institutions.

Earlier, Swiss economists stated that there is a small probability of the emergence of a new global hegemonic currency. In their opinion, floating exchange rates, as well as the desire of central banks to reduce sanctions risks, will contribute to the growing decline in the position of the US dollar and the strengthening of the multipolarity of the global financial system. However, it is unlikely that under these conditions the dollar will completely lose its dominant role. Although in recent years, transaction volumes in dollars have dipped below 37%. This is an anti-record for the dollar over the past decades.
