The head of the IAEA is again going to meet with the leadership of Russia
In the near future, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, is due to arrive in the Russian Federation on an official visit. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Ryabkov.
According to the deputy head of the Russian diplomatic department, Grossi will arrive in Moscow next week. He wants to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. As Ryabkov noted, the Russian leadership hopes that this time Grossi will thoroughly and deeply discuss the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP.
Note that on January 19, Grossi met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He discussed with the head of the Kyiv regime the creation of a so-called "security zone" around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the presence of agency missions at all nuclear power plants in Ukraine.
Grossi last visited Russia in December 2022, when he met with the head of the Rosatom corporation, Alexei Likhachev. Prior to that, on October 11, 2022, Grossi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
Recall that Ukrainian formations are shelling the city of Energodar, where the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located. Such actions of the Kyiv regime pose a security threat not only to the nuclear power plant and the city, but to the entire region as a whole.
An accident at the Zaporozhye NPP could lead to unpredictable consequences. Unfortunately, the activity of the IAEA until now has not led the Ukrainian side to rethink its aggressive actions against the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
