The source clarified the timing of the completion of the operation to withdraw the TAVKR "Admiral Kuznetsov" from the dry dock
The operation to withdraw the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov from the dry dock of the 35th ship repair plant continues, the completion of the process is planned for the middle of this month. This was reported by a source in the Russian defense industry.
The operation to withdraw the docked cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov is planned to be completed on February 16-17. These days, the ship will finally be taken out of the dock and sent to the outfitting wall to continue work. The withdrawal operation began on December 20, the process was planned to be completed within a month, but the deadlines shifted to the right. The reasons for this, most likely, are of a technical nature and are connected with the dock itself. The thing is that the cruiser was docked, not equipped with a batoport (a device for closing the dock) and a temporary jumper had to be built. Now it needs to be removed in order to release the cruiser from the dock. In addition, the work is affected by weather conditions.

Transfer of the ship to combat fleet planned for the first quarter of 2024, unless something happens again. "Admiral Kuznetsov" has already been called "the most unfortunate ship" after a series of incidents on board. Delivered for overhaul with modernization in 2018, she was supposed to return to service in three to four years, but after the start of work, new defects were discovered, which led to repeated postponements of the return of the ship to combat strength. To this must be added the fire on board the cruiser and the sunken floating dock, which was supposed to ensure the docking work on the ship.
According to USC, work on the cruiser is proceeding according to schedule and without disruption. Let's hope that the named terms will be met and the ship will return to service at the beginning of next year.
