The source clarified the timing of the completion of the operation to withdraw the TAVKR "Admiral Kuznetsov" from the dry dock

The operation to withdraw the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov from the dry dock of the 35th ship repair plant continues, the completion of the process is planned for the middle of this month. This was reported by a source in the Russian defense industry.

The operation to withdraw the docked cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov is planned to be completed on February 16-17. These days, the ship will finally be taken out of the dock and sent to the outfitting wall to continue work. The withdrawal operation began on December 20, the process was planned to be completed within a month, but the deadlines shifted to the right. The reasons for this, most likely, are of a technical nature and are connected with the dock itself. The thing is that the cruiser was docked, not equipped with a batoport (a device for closing the dock) and a temporary jumper had to be built. Now it needs to be removed in order to release the cruiser from the dock. In addition, the work is affected by weather conditions.

The aircraft carrier will be taken out of the dry dock of the 35th shipyard on February 16-17

- leads TASS source words.

Transfer of the ship to combat fleet planned for the first quarter of 2024, unless something happens again. "Admiral Kuznetsov" has already been called "the most unfortunate ship" after a series of incidents on board. Delivered for overhaul with modernization in 2018, she was supposed to return to service in three to four years, but after the start of work, new defects were discovered, which led to repeated postponements of the return of the ship to combat strength. To this must be added the fire on board the cruiser and the sunken floating dock, which was supposed to ensure the docking work on the ship.

According to USC, work on the cruiser is proceeding according to schedule and without disruption. Let's hope that the named terms will be met and the ship will return to service at the beginning of next year.

It would be nice to simultaneously launch the concept of a new carrier ship for drone drones: there are lancets of geraniums and other switchblades with eagles.

The Soviet-Russian fleet has an old, long tradition of being the platform of the ground forces!

The premise is that the theater of operations for the Russian fleet is in Syria, and not in the maritime states of the US, Japan, or the UK, before building the fleet as an extension of the ground forces.

Otherwise, you need to build a fleet so that it can win wars on its own, without the participation of ground forces.

That's it! good Why go far, I propose the option of the victory of the Black Sea Fleet over Ukraine!
The fleet enters the Dnieper and, destroying everything in its path, reaches Kyiv, lands troops right on the embankment of the Mariinsky Park and voila, the end of the war !!!
And this ... and the infliction of irreparable damage by the fleet to the aggressor country will be considered winning the war on its own?

Why is he needed at all, this non-aircraft carrier? Sell it for scrap to the North Koreans and that's it. One aircraft carrier cruiser will not change anything in the theater.
"Kuznetsov" is the same object of PR as "Armata" and its derivatives, like the Su-57. Not bad, beautiful, already bursting with pride, but expensive and unrealizable.

To have the second army in the world, you need to have a powerful economy of the appropriate level, advanced technologies and production capacities, you need to have personnel who will develop all this.
The number of servicemen armed with Berdans no longer decides anything.
You can see for yourself the importance of UAVs on the battlefields. The next step will be the appearance of land robots. The achievements of Boston Dynamics can be seen today.
Examples - please: China and the United States. Satellite countries such as South Korea and Japan, although not political leaders, have great potential.

The maintenance of the military contingent in Afghanistan cost a lot of money to the US treasury. The main supply lines passed through Pakistan, which means they need to be fed. Under Trump, relations between the United States and Pakistan have deteriorated, and the dark history with Bin Laden has also contributed to this. Plus, complex relations between Pakistan and India, and the US would like to see the latter in its allies, and it is difficult to sit on two chairs. In addition, the PRC has built military bases in Tajikistan on the border with Afghanistan. As you know, because of Taiwan, relations between the US and China have become more complicated, and in the event of a war, the Afghan contingent may find itself in a delicate position, especially since there is a common state border between Afghanistan and China and China has great views on this region.

Russia also has its own interest

Russia's interests are primarily associated with the sale of natural gas and oil, which, even according to official forecasts, remains for 20 years, after which production will become unprofitable.
The spectrum of China's interests is much wider and its government is looking far into the future. The first Silk Road, the shortest route from China to Europe, passed through the Badakhshan Gorge. China intends to revive the great Silk Road. A large copper mining contract has been signed with Afghanistan. As you know, the world is gradually switching to electric vehicles, and without copper there is absolutely no way. In this regard, the PRC built (even before the Taliban seized power) a training camp in the northern province of Afghanistan, where it trained Afghan special forces (obviously to protect the territory).

For the problems with the construction of new ships lie not in the financial, but in the production plane and other areas. For corvettes, this is Kolomna with its diesel engines and the strange policy of the Navy with the "improvement" of the project, the logical conclusion of which was the ever-memorable 20386 and a return to 20380. For frigates, the transfer of production of complete DGTUs to Saturn, problems that surfaced at Zvezda with gearboxes and epic with "Polydut". There is money, but there is no goods.
This is only in bad strategies and liberal economists convert money directly into a commodity.

Even the title is funny to read.
      "end of dry docking operation."
      Is this item really necessary?

Correct question. The answer is simple. If the construction of aircraft carriers is planned in the future, then it is needed.
To train personnel and gain experience in operating such ships.
If we don’t build aircraft carriers and the issue is finally closed, we don’t need it.

Even without any extra effort, it was enough to fulfill the obligations assumed, and now Nakhimov and Kuzya would be in the ranks

To do this, it was necessary to start everything half a century ago - when our admirals decided instead of dry docks for TAVKR to get by with a pair of floating docks.

... instead of dry docks for TAVKR, get by with a pair of floating docks.
Now on Google's photo maps you can see the Kuzya in this dry dock, which was bungled over a year from two adjacent docks, removing a rocky bridge between them. It must be admitted that the new dock turned out to be with a good margin in length and width. The urgency of the repair forced the Kuzya to be placed in this unfinished dock, without completing the installation of the bot port. I wonder what was used for a temporary embankment instead of a regular botoport?

The same as during the construction of the dock - two sheet pile walls with backfill between them.
Here is a photo of the beginning of work on the construction of the jumper:

And here is the end result:

A shortened aircraft carrier can be used:
    1. The carrier of drones, balloons, airships.
    2. Develop a special category of heavy drones based on WWII aircraft. Both shock and kamikaze, and scouts.
    3. It is stupid to use it as a means of delivering goods and armored vehicles.
Winches, freight elevators, a couple of transport helicopters.

Enough with this nonsense already, large warships are too vulnerable, and now we are not up to expansion in the far sea zone. There was already a precedent when they refused to complete the construction of the "Soviet Union", "Kronstadt" and hedgehogs with them, and as history has shown, it is absolutely correct. And pilots elsewhere will come in handy.

As the (obvious) NWO showed, it is NOT large ships that are vulnerable in the first place.
