In Russia, the development of chameleon equipment has begun, allowing the fighter to completely merge with the terrain
The Russian army in the future may be armed with equipment that makes the fighter invisible to thermal imagers and allows them to merge with the terrain. The development of chameleon equipment is already underway, said Vladimir Kormushin, general director of Cuirass CJSC.
"Kirass" is developing new equipment, this became possible due to the use of new materials with the necessary properties. As Kormushin explained, the task is to disguise the fighter not with the help of various electronic or other devices, but by using materials that can change their color due to special dyes. Ideally, this will be a kit that can adapt to the environment, time of day, etc., that is, in fact, a chameleon.
- leads RIA News the words of the general director of the Cuirass.
The developments on this topic can be used to create the equipment of the future soldier "Legionnaire", which should appear in the mid-30s. According to Kormushin, a prototype Legionnaire may appear as early as 2025, and in 2035 equipment will be mass-produced into the troops. "Kirasa" is also involved in the creation of new equipment, developing the combat protective kit (BPC), winter camouflage and goggles, i.e. all the same as for the "Warrior".
The Russian army is currently using the second-generation Ratnik equipment, which in the future should be replaced by the Sotnik, and then it will come to the Legionnaire.
