Canadian Air Force military transport aircraft delivered the first Leopard 2 tank for Ukraine to Poland

The Ukrainian army in the near future will receive Tanks German production. Canada delivered the first Leopard 2 to Ukraine by air. Canadian Minister of Defense Anita Anand announced this.

The Canadian Department of Defense has sent the first of four promised tanks to Ukraine. The day before, the Leopard 2A4M was loaded aboard a Canadian Air Force military transport aircraft, after which it headed for Poland. When this tank will be delivered directly to Ukraine, there is no information. It is possible that he will be left in Poland to train Ukrainian tankers, especially since Canadian military instructors who will train the crews should fly out after the tank.

Today, a Canadian Air Force aircraft left Halifax with the first Leopard 2 main battle tank on board, which our country is transferring to Ukraine. Canada stands with the people of Ukraine, and we will continue to provide the UAF with the means it needs to win.

Anand stated.

Judging by the photo of the tank, the Canadians did not bother much and sent it as is, they did not even wash and tint it. The remaining three tanks in Ottawa promised to be handed over to Kyiv in "the coming weeks." Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive four Leopard 2A4M tanks from the presence of the Canadian army.

Earlier, Zelensky's office stated that they intended to receive at least 40 tanks from Canada, but the Canadians were able to transfer only four. In general, the Canadian army is armed with 82 Leopard tanks, acquired in 2007, + another 30 "training" tanks that are not adapted for combat operations. According to Ottawa, only twenty are in service - these are Leopard 2A6M CAN and Leopard 2A4M CAN. All the rest are under conservation or repair.

Who will scatter the new, knowing in advance that it will be destroyed.

Near Kursk in 1943, the Germans thought differently, so they sent tanks from Africa.
The impudent Saxons and their mongrels just believe that with yellow tanks, following the example of Kursk, the Russians can be completely intimidated and defeated not in Ukraine. The bastards do not know history and do not know that you cannot intimidate us with yellow tanks. Such people burned near Kursk in 43 and will burn now in the Donbass ...

A common misconception about Africa. The light yellow color of Wehrmacht armored vehicles is a regular factory primer. The camouflage was supposed to be applied directly to the units according to the season and under the theater of operations. Toward the end of the war, this was neglected and the tanks were used in their standard yellow paint until they were destroyed.
At one time, the Stug III was pulled out of the swamp in almost perfect condition (it fell through the ice in the winter - even the fuel remained in the tank), it was sandy yellow, although it was in the winter of 1944, when Africa ended long ago, and Italy was coming to an end .

the tank itself is still a piece of iron, it needs ammunition, fuel and lubricants, a trained crew and air defense cover. No matter how formidable he is, the KA-52 will find him and destroy him.

Before you consider yourself smarter than our military, first figure out what it is. Without entering the MANPADS coverage area, an area target is guaranteed to be covered using cheap ammunition. The Ukrainians, by the way, began to try to copy this tactic. Here, look and imagine if your unit covers this. And yet, the most insidious defeat by mines, shells and rockets from above, a canopy. It’s hard to hide behind cover, it flies right into the trench, etc., and the armored vehicles are hit from above, where the armor is weak. A flying MLRS, a calculated salvo of exactly two attack aircraft or helicopters, in order to create a certain density and area of fire rain damage, well, there is a football field or a couple. And to cover a tank column or a pig is quite natural.

It's funny to you. The crews of the t-72b or t-62m are not very funny. This is not m-48 / m-60. Leo-2a4M is a hello from 90-× (base), plus modernization. The letter m is not simple there.
And it's not even funny that they plan to send only 4 tanks. This is 4 so far and only Canada.

There is a big difference. We have new equipment in storage. There were no electronics sensitive to aging, etc. And the Germans, etc., put in storage stubborn junk, close to decommissioning. The legacy of the USSR about 40 thousand tanks and the best left in the storage of the Moscow Region. There is also the Rosrezerv, what is there ... it is not known. Only recently cavalry checkers were removed from storage. There are even PPSh and ammunition for them. What is there from armored vehicles, only God knows.

Have you seen these outdoor storage bases yourself? Over the decade, this technique has turned into piles of iron due to atmospheric precipitation and playful little hands, and it takes a lot of effort to put it into operation.

If you don't know, then don't write. And do not confuse the dumps of used equipment withdrawn from the GDR with storage bases in underground workings, in hangars, etc. There is a certain temperature and humidity, everything is lubricated. If outdoor storage, such as aircraft, is allowed, then the access to the atmosphere is blocked by covers, etc.
Fill up with gas, put in the battery and start it up. This is the meaning of storage. If thermal imaging sights, Glonas devices and coded communication devices are now being installed on equipment, then this is the work of several hours, well, days. They do this not at a tank factory, but in repair shops. The problem of equipment from storage is that it is necessary to train mobilized crews. Even if the term took place in the tank troops, you need to remember everything and learn about innovations. Stop sowing panic, we have enough weapons for everyone, UVZ is capable of producing half a thousand new tanks a year without much straining. We have already destroyed a quarter of a million banderlogs (according to NATO data, the same), as many (modestly) wounded. A little more and there will be only prostatitis pennies with sciatica.

That's exactly what you are telling the tales of Taras, our Ukrainian friend. You don't even know that the storage batteries are dry, and the electrolyte is stored separately. In this state, they are stored for at least a century. Under Putin, storage is constantly being rotated, Zilas and Urals are being exchanged for Kamaz trucks, and decommissioned vehicles are thrown away for sale. Despite the year of manufacture, it is brand new, not a scratch, in perfect condition, the tires have absolutely no wear. We have a lot of battery factories, if you keep a dead battery in your Lanos, then blame it on greed wassat Buy yourself something from conservation, you can even look after an airworthy Il-76 https://vk.com/rosreservy But do not confuse the storage of equipment removed from conservation and the storage of equipment in conservation. The first can go to intermediaries, and if there is no demand, it is not stored there according to the norms. And they won’t let you into the storage base, and they won’t tell you where it is, because the Federal Reserve is under the heading.

Canada sent Ukraine the first of the four promised tanks
This is three more flights of the aircraft, which means fuel consumption, which is not cheap. Delivery is a little expensive for Canada, but for "Ukrainian friends" nothing is a pity. Kyiv so counted on 40 pcs. only from Canada, and they are only 4 of them, because they themselves have only 20 in service. It’s probably a shame, all the more so they have already trumpeted throughout the country about the incredible number of tanks that will be supplied by "friends of Ukraine", who "the whole world is with us."

I do not want to upset you, but for the USA, Canada, Great Britain - planes are what trains are for Russia. They fly everywhere. And VTA have a very large plaque. And when it’s not really necessary, they fly just to fly their 300 hours on the crew. Previously, they brought everything to Afghanistan, but now Afghanistan has fallen out, so they will fly in like this, better than empty back and forth and back to fill the norm.

Kyiv so counted on 40 pieces. only from Canada, and they are only 4 of them, because they themselves have only 20 in service.

      1) This is the first batch.
      2) They themselves have only 20 Leo2A6KAN. Another 20 Leo2A4Kan are in reserve. The latter are not inferior in quality to Leo2A6 with a short gun - for updates + modular armor.

      3) They have 42 Leo2A4M - some are used as training, some are in canned food, some are in reserve. Actually 4 cars of this model, which could be lifted, were immediately sent.
      4) They have 45 more C2s (about 10 lost in Afghanistan out of 66 issued). This is such a Leopard 1 with a new engine, a new control system (at the level of Leo2A5), enhanced protection. They tried to sell them to Jordan, negotiated with Greece, Chile and Indonesia.

The Leopard C2 would be retired from the Canadian Army in 2017, however Canada attempted to find a new home for its remaining C2s but a potential sale to Jordan fell through in 2018 and any further attempts to sell the tanks did not materialize.
In December 2021, Canada would turn over it remaining 45 Leopard C2s to an Alberta.

I remember that recently a Ukrainian S-300 missile system fell in Poland and killed 2 Poles.
Biden came out and said: if it was Russia that struck Poland, even if by mistake, we will answer, I guarantee. There he said something about the third world war.
So the "domestic defense ministry" squealed that nothing was fired at closer than 31 kilometers (31 kilometers or 34 kilometers) from the Polish border. Just started making excuses.

Everything is as usual. Western weapons will continue to reach the front without hindrance.

As the experience of the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson showed, bridges are very strong structures and it is not easy to demolish them. The Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted more than 40 blows by Hamars on it, and as a result, it was not completely destroyed, but remained actually suitable for passage, although there was no talk of any standards, of course. Let me remind you that our aircraft demolished the Antonovsky Bridge with an explosion, the Ukrainians did not bring it down. There are more than a dozen bridges across the Dnieper, including dam crossings. It only makes sense to destroy EVERYTHING AT ONCE, tk. otherwise, traffic flows will simply be redistributed to other bridges, and damaged ones will be intensively repaired. Can you offer a rational and realistic plan for the destruction of bridges without the use of tactical nuclear weapons? You can, of course, after listening to experts like you, land 5 dozen missiles (Caliber, Iskander, Kh-101, etc.) - if in one bridge, then it can probably collapse, but what's the point? With such a consumption of missiles? If 4-5 missile strikes are applied to all at once, then not only will not one of the bridges be destroyed, but even for a long time will not be put out of action. Considering that the Ukrainians will immediately rush to repair them day and night (this is not a 750kW transformer to replace), but only pour concrete and cook metal structures, and even put air defense on cover, this will not end with anything other than the empty consumption of cruise missiles. Bridges must be brought down by a raid by a squadron of bombers, who will drop handfuls of 500-1000 kg of Chuginium FABs on it. Here is a justified and effective method. Specify at your leisure the weight of the Caliber warhead, for example, for the sake of curiosity.

Well, with the initiative to Ukraine. Finally, all the legends, conversations, tales about these tanks will be dispelled. I will not say that this is a bad tank or some old stuff. This is quite a tank of the level of the 90s, which means it corresponds, and maybe even surpasses the main Russian zoo from the T-72, T-64, T-62. But the army wins not by numbers alone, not only by the quality of equipment, but first of all by organization. Yes, according to reviews, these tanks are more convenient than Soviet / Russian ones. The Germans during the Second World War also had this, but it did not help. Well, a projectile from a D-30 or Gvozdika is somehow on the drum, a tank that is convenient there on the march or uncomfortable. You can dance in it or not. A land mine of 30 anti-tank mines, such as TM-62, and according to Ukrainian reviews, there were such surprises from Russian engineers, it will destroy any tank, even if the tank itself is inside another tank. Russian troops need to establish intelligence, communications, interaction, etc. Well, and I'm sure that soon this wunderwaffe will turn into an ordinary, by no means impressive weapon.
