American experts: Chinese balloon will finally leave US airspace today

The Chinese balloon will finally leave US airspace today. At least, such a scenario was calculated by American experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

This was reported by the CNN TV channel.

American experts, based on the weather model, calculated the flight path of the object. Calculations showed that this Saturday the object should leave the US airspace. Experts speculate. That the balloon will cross the territory of the states of Kentucky and Tennessee. After that, he should go to the coast of North Carolina, after which he will continue his journey over the Atlantic Ocean.

This information is confirmed by two representatives of the United States Department of Defense. One of them stated that the balloon would then fall into the ocean.

Earlier in the past few days, a Chinese balloon has crossed US airspace from the northwest to the southeast, making its way from the West Coast, now approaching the East. A balloon the size of three buses flies at an altitude of more than 18 kilometers, so it does not interfere with civilian flights at all. aviation. Meanwhile, because of this incident, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken canceled his trip to China.

The Pentagon believes that the balloon has special reconnaissance equipment on board and is performing a spy mission, but they do not shoot it down in order to avoid damage to ground facilities. This Thursday, the balloon was in Montana airspace, where US Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles are deployed.

Who was beaten down? M. Rust shot down?

We remember how the same Americans laughed out loud at the "decisiveness and speed of decision-making" of our pension Politburo, which thought what to do with Rust, until he sat down on Red Square.
Now it's our turn to laugh at Grandpa.

Under the current administration, they don't fly for such epaulettes. They are more likely to fly for the misuse of pronouns. Everything was clear before: he/him (he/him/his), then she/her (she/her/her) was added. And even homo and transsexuals, who had made up their minds, did not violate this order. But then all sorts of gender fluid, gender non-conforming appeared, and you still don’t understand who / what, and one of them demands that he / her / it be called “they” (they / them / their), and someone invented the gender-neutral pronoun ze/zem/zeirs (hell, I don't even know how to translate it correctly, or even how to pronounce it), and maybe there are more pronouns for certain categories of people that I'm not aware of. And the incorrect use of pronouns to bearers thereof offends the dignity of a soldier - a member of the LGBTQ + community, and this community as a whole. With all the consequences.wassat

There are 2 questions here. 1. The balloon crossed the states completely and obliquely and right everywhere stuffed with ground objects, and even such that there is nowhere for a torn plastic bubble to fall? 2. And how are they going to fight off nuclear warheads so that ground facilities are not damaged?
ps. I didn’t think that it was a problem to shoot down a ball at an altitude of 18 km. Powers was shot down over the USSR in 61g (?).

The height of the airspace of states is limited to 100-110 km. Everything above is already an international space. If the probe was above 100 km (and it, in my opinion) and was higher, then formally all claims are groundless.
There are no questions about satellites.
You give more reconnaissance probes over the territory of the United States!

At one time, such balloons drank a lot of the blood of the USSR air defense. Not only are the heights at the limit for air defense fighters, they are not captured by air defense systems. Attempts to shoot from cannons also had no effect, the shells simply pierce without working, and even the shell there is cunning, self-tightening.

Apparently, they were not talking about this particular one, but in general about the Chinese program in this area as a whole.

Hohhot, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- China's new-type stratospheric balloon Yuanmeng (Dream Realized) landed at a designated location in the Shilin Gol steppe (Inner Mongolia, northern China) the other day. Thus, his trial flight ended in complete success.

During the 20-hour flight, the developers received important test data that will be useful for preparing further flights of the device. It is planned that the balloon will be able to stay in the air for 3-6 months at an altitude of 20-100 km, said the project manager, an employee of the Beijing Nanjiang company Zhu Ming.

It was in 2019, I think.

Russia needs stratospheric airships like air. At an altitude of 40 km, its location radius is 750 km. There is a lot of sun. If flexible photographic plates are built into its shell, the generation of electricity will be up to 200 kW / h, which is more than enough for control and targeting radars, as well as for visual control equipment and an electric motor. An airship with a diameter of 20m and a length of 200m will lift up to 5 tons of payload to the indicated height. They cost ten times less than satellites. About 30 pieces of such devices will make it possible to create a continuous radar field along the entire border of the Russian Federation and to see the approach of low-altitude enemy weapons at ranges of at least 750 km. No "Swifts" and "Tomahawks" will be able to slip unnoticed to our objects. The same number of such airships located above international waters will be able to provide the functions of long-range radar patrol and guidance of weapons against NATO ship groups. If such an airship is lowered to 2-3 km, it will also lift 50 tons. For transportation in any direction at a speed of 120-150 km per hour, no roads are needed. But in the USSR there was a plant for the production of airships, but along with the collapse of communism, the brains of the Russian elite also disintegrated. It seems that she cannot think above the "horizon of her feeders".

After the shelling, the ball took on a different shape, because the multilayer shell resembled a condom and changed its height when the radar was irradiated and shells hit.

    2. There are anti-flutter peaks at the ends of the wings 28. During the firing, the pilot rammed the tip of the wing with a pike and the shell penetrated between the wing and the aileron. Therefore, I saw a shell like a condom. The costs are very high. I can’t say that they shot down the stratospheric balloon. But the trajectory of the further flight and the wind were directed towards Sverdlovsk.

This is a strong response from the Chinese.

The public reaction is much weaker (we do not take the reaction of government officials) than in the case of a satellite launch - there is a description of that first reaction from eyewitnesses; although this event may also be historical:

.... For the first time I experienced horror - genuine horror, and not an encounter with demons or ghosts that live in my imagination - on one October day in 1957.
    ...
The manager stepped on the stage and raised his hand, asking for silence - a completely unnecessary gesture.
... We sat on chairs like mannequins and looked at the manager. He looked alarmed and painful - or maybe it was the fault of the lighting. We wondered what a catastrophe caused him to stop the film at the most tense moment, but then the manager spoke, and the trembling in his voice confused us even more.
“I want to inform you,” he began, “that the Russians have launched a satellite into orbit around the Earth.” They called him ... "companion."
The message was met with absolute, deathly silence.
    ...
I remember very clearly: the terrible dead silence of the cinema was suddenly broken by a lone cry; I don’t know if it was a boy or a girl, the voice was full of tears and frightened anger: “Let's show a movie, liar!”
The manager didn't even look in the direction the voice had come from, and somehow that was the worst part.
    ...
And here's the question. Everyone remembers where they were when President Kennedy was assassinated. Everyone remembers where they heard that as a result of another madness, Robert Kennedy died in the kitchen of some hotel. Some may even remember where the Cuban Missile Crisis found him.
And who remembers where he was when the Russians launched the satellite? ..
... I believe that many children - children of war, as we were called - remember this event just as well.

(Stephen King. "Dance of Death" (1981))
