The representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the hopes associated with the supply of Ukraine with Patriot PAC-3 and SAMP / T air defense systems
Ukraine expects, in connection with the supply of Patriot PAC-3 and SAMP / T air defense systems, to be able to shoot down ballistic missiles, which pose the greatest threat to the country at present. This was stated by the official representative of the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat on the air of the Ukrainian telethon.
Ignat also spoke a little about what the air defense system of Ukraine is today. According to a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine has a symbiosis of old Soviet air defense systems like the S-300 air defense system, and the IRIS-T, NASAMS, Crotale and Gepard air defense systems supplied by the West.
According to Ignat, all air defense systems can work in a single information field. This allows them to transmit information about the air situation in real time and hit selected targets.
Recall that Ukraine most actively began to demand the supply of Western air and missile defense systems after the Russian Armed Forces launched massive strikes against the country's energy and military infrastructure. These strikes, in turn, became a retaliatory measure after a series of terrorist attacks carried out by Ukrainian forces on the territory of the Russian Federation, including an explosion on the Crimean bridge.
Since now the Ukrainian air defense includes both Soviet and Western anti-aircraft missile systems, this circumstance greatly complicates the operation and maintenance of the air defense system. The representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is cunning when he says that Ukraine has built a developed air defense system with such eclectic weapons. Even simple maintenance of various systems requires a large number of specialists with versatile training who can work with foreign military equipment.
