The Prosecutor General's Office of Germany did not find evidence of Russia's involvement in sabotage at the Nord Stream
At present, the German Prosecutor General's Office has not been able to find evidence of the involvement of the Russian Federation in the autumn sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. This was stated by the Attorney General of Germany, Peter Frank, to the publication Welt am Sonntag.
According to the head of the German Prosecutor General's Office, two research vessels took water and soil samples from the accident site. Fragments of gas pipelines were also studied. But the information that was received by the experts does not confirm the version of Russia's involvement in sabotage.
However, Frank noted, the investigation into the causes of the accidents continues. A forensic examination is currently underway. So far, the prosecutor's office is only questioning the possibility of foreign sabotage against gas pipelines, the prosecutor general stressed.
Recall that the terrorist attacks occurred on September 26, 2022 on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe - Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2. The authorities of Germany, Denmark and Sweden soon admitted the possibility of targeted sabotage. However, then the discussion of the accident on gas pipelines in the Western press slowed down.
Apparently, it is impossible to accuse Russia of sabotage due to the complete lack of evidence, but if we continue to accept the version of a targeted undermining of gas pipelines, then this means that the true "saboteur" should be discovered. But what if it turns out to be one of the NATO countries? The German prosecutor's office cannot admit that the US or the UK carried out sabotage against an energy infrastructure facility and are terrorist countries. So we have to question the very possibility of foreign sabotage.
