Russian State Duma deputy Belik: “Assault brigades supposedly to seize Crimea are an optical illusion”
The plans of the Ukrainian leadership to attack the Crimea are an "optical illusion". This is how Dmitry Belik, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from Sevastopol, described them.
According to the politician, Crimea is only part of the Russian Southern Military District. If Ukraine tries to attack the territory of the peninsula, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to fight not only with the grouping of the RF Armed Forces stationed in Crimea, but also with troops from neighboring regions of the country - Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Region.
- quotes RIA News Deputy Belik.
According to the politician, if the Ukrainian assault brigades are really sent by the Kyiv regime to the Crimean peninsula, then at best they will only be able to get to the line of contact with Russian troops, and even this cannot be guaranteed.
Recall that earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the creation of eight assault brigades, which allegedly will seize the Donbass, Crimea and other Russian regions that were previously part of the Ukrainian state. Why such units had to be created in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and not the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities did not explain.
But there is no doubt that this is really just one of the PR moves of the Kyiv regime, designed for "domestic consumption" and to demonstrate some of Ukraine's ambitions to Western patrons. After all, if these ambitions are not demonstrated, then the patrons of Ukraine can reduce financial subsidies, which is the worst nightmare of the current Ukrainian government.
