Trump: Washington should negotiate peace in Ukraine, not just provide military assistance to Kyiv
Former US President Donald Trump, who officially announced his desire to fight for a return to the White House in the upcoming elections the day before, again criticized the Biden administration for excessive support for Ukraine. He believes that Washington should negotiate peace in Ukraine, and not just provide military assistance to Kyiv. Trump made the corresponding statement in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, answering a question about the possibility of supplying Kyiv with F-16 fighter jets.
Trump stated his position.
The former president added that he considers the conflict in Ukraine more a matter for Europeans than for Americans. At the same time, the United States spends many times more on helping Kyiv than European countries, and this is unfair, Trump said.
- said the former head of the White House, adding that he would like to make sure that Ukraine and Russia "fight for the last time."
Previously, Trump has repeatedly criticized the policy of the current president regarding the huge military assistance to the Kyiv regime and argued that if he were the head of state, then the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine would not have started. He also stated that by returning to the White House he would be able to end the military confrontation between Moscow and Kyiv within 24 hours. The ex-president of the United States does not agree with the decision of the Biden administration to send American Tanksbelieving that this would lead to a further escalation of hostilities and could cause a nuclear catastrophe.
It should be noted that during his presidency, Donald Trump turned out to be the only head of the American state in recent decades, under which the United States did not initiate a single military conflict. Therefore, American voters are unlikely to be able to accuse him of hypocrisy about calls for a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine. True, it is difficult to attribute Trump to the category of "doves of peace", since it was he who unilaterally withdrew the United States from the deal with Iran on the nuclear program, and it was he who gave orders for missile attacks on Syria after the fakes of a notorious organization about an alleged chemical attack carried out troops of Bashar al-Assad.
