Bloomberg: Deliveries of US GLSDB precision bombs to APU will take about 9 months
The deliveries of long-range precision bombs GLSDB announced by the US government to the Ukrainian army are possible no earlier than in nine months.
According to the US news agency Bloomberg, in order to supply Ukraine with certain types of weapons, the US authorities need to conclude contracts for their production, after which the manufacturing company will need some time to fulfill the order. This is expected to take about nine months, as stated above.
It is also reported that the next package of American military assistance to the forces of the Kyiv regime may include Claymore anti-personnel mines allocated from the Pentagon, GPS-guided Excalibur precision guided missiles, as well as support equipment for Patriot air defense systems and Mk 153 rocket-propelled grenade launchers. These types of weapons may be transferred soon.
The GLSDB long-range precision bombs are a joint development between Boeing and Saab and are rocket-powered aerial bombs. Ammunition of this type is adapted to be launched using HIMARS MLRS systems. According to the manufacturers, the range of such precision-guided munitions is up to 150 kilometers, which significantly exceeds the range of munitions currently at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a range of up to 80 kilometers. For obvious reasons, this will take the conflict in Ukraine to a new level of escalation.
According to a number of Western media reports, the United States intends to provide Ukraine with a new $2,2 billion military aid package in the near future.
