The Ukrainian minister was going to “punish” the Russians living in Crimea in the event of a hypothetical capture of the peninsula by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Representatives of the Kyiv regime are trying to seriously discuss some prospects for "liberating" the territory of the Crimean peninsula and carrying out "purges" against Russian citizens on it. For example, the Minister of Ukraine for the Reintegration of the “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Irina Vereshchuk noted that in addition to Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars and other indigenous peoples, there are some “colonizers from Russia” in Crimea.
True, since when did the Ukrainians become the indigenous people of Crimea, it is not very clear. It is also not clear what kind of "colonizers" we are talking about. But Vereshchuk promised filtration measures without any embarrassment.
According to the Ukrainian minister, Russians in Crimea will face “legal punishment if they are found to have committed crimes.” Vereshchuk does not explain what "crimes" and "punishments" he is talking about.
However, we have already seen massacres and torture of civilians in Kharkiv and Kherson regions after Russian units were withdrawn from their territory out of necessity.
The victims of massacres were often absolutely ordinary people, far from politics and hostilities, whose entire “fault” was that they continued to work in schools, medical institutions, cultural and leisure organizations, and so on. It can be assumed that the Ukrainian regime has similar plans for Crimea.
But Vereshchuk should be reminded that Crimea will never become Ukrainian, so the Kyiv regime may not even dream of establishing control over the peninsula and reprisals against civilians. It would be better if Vereshchuk thought about punishing the leaders of the Kyiv regime for committing crimes, which is much more likely than the occupation of the Crimean peninsula by Ukrainian formations.
