NATO official said about the complexity of the logistics of supplying tanks to Ukraine
The Western edition of the Financial Times came out with an article that talks about the imminent start of training for Ukrainian tank crews to control German-made Leopard 2 tanks. According to the sources of this magazine, Ukrainian military personnel will begin training from next week. The publication does not name the country in which such training will be held, but with a high degree of probability we can say that this is Poland. Previously, it was Polish officials who announced "the imminent start of training for Ukrainian tankers."
The publication, citing an unnamed source, writes that NATO tankers who have “skills in operating Leopard 2 combat vehicles” are involved in the training.
And the same publication, again referring to an unnamed official in the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance, writes that the biggest problem for NATO is not even the training of Ukrainian crews, but the delivery of a large batch of heavy armored vehicles to Ukraine.
The official says literally the following:
Recall that so far Britain and Germany are ready to send their tanks to Ukraine, not counting those who will ensure the re-export of German Leopards (Poland, for example). The United States, led by President Biden, announcing their readiness to put their "Abrams" while they washed their hands. Information comes from American sources that if they deliver the M1 Abrams, then not earlier than the end of 2023.
