Politico: European officials are advised to follow a certain dress code during visits to Kyiv
Officials from EU countries were sent recommendations on the appearance and style of clothing, which is desirable to adhere to during visits to Kyiv and meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the American publication Рolitico, a corresponding memo was sent to European officials before the EU-Ukraine summit. EU officials are advised to wear formal business suits to public events involving Zelensky, as well as to avoid green clothes and bright accessories or items of clothing.
According to the authors of the publication, the reason for such recommendations is attempts to preserve the militaristic style and militant appearance of Zelensky and other representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, among whom, after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, army-style T-shirts and sweatshirts became popular, replacing traditional business suits.
European officials participating in the summit are also advised not to burden themselves with luggage during the trip, limiting themselves to small backpacks, and also choose comfortable shoes and warm outerwear for the Kyiv trip.
European officials were also warned that the train that would take them to Kyiv, in addition to separate beds, would have a shared toilet that was not equipped with a bathroom. Meals en route will be provided through the issuance of boxes of snacks.
During the summit, which is scheduled for February 3, it is supposed to discuss the transfer of Russian assets frozen in the EU countries to the Kyiv regime, as well as the creation of a special tribunal for Ukraine.
