Advisor to the head of Zelensky's office called on the Moldovan authorities to regain control over Transnistria
An adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine said that the Moldovan authorities should consider the possibility of reintegrating Transnistria. The Ukrainian official added that if residents of any territory do not like the laws established in the capital, they must either go to jail for collaborationism or leave the country. According to Podolyak, separatist sentiments can be stopped only within the framework of an ultimatum format.
However, the appeals of Podolyak, most likely, will not be heard by the government of Moldova. This is due to the unwillingness of Chisinau to get involved in an armed conflict, without having at least some significant armed forces that are unable to defeat the army of Transnistria, reinforced by the Operational Group of Russian Forces based on the left bank of the Dniester. Despite the difficulties in supplying and carrying out the rotation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Tiraspol, the armed forces of Moldova are not a force capable of returning Transnistria under its control by military means without external support. The special operation carried out by Russia in Ukraine only contributed to the desire of the Moldovans to avoid an armed conflict on their territory at any cost.
The existence of Transnistria, which is not controlled by Chisinau, significantly limits the logistical possibilities of the Kyiv regime. Through this territory, closely adjacent to the Ukrainian borders, there are railways and major roads connecting Ukraine with Moldova, and, accordingly, with the countries of the European Union.
Podolyak's statement once again fits into Kyiv's paradigm of pushing its neighbors to open a second front against Russia. So far, these provocations remain without the response that the Kyiv regime is counting on.
