US Institute for the Study of War predicts some "raids" of the Russian Armed Forces in northern Ukraine
Yesterday, the head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin, called on the Russian Defense Ministry to eliminate the possibility of shelling Russian territory from the Ukrainian side. These words of the President of the Russian Federation allowed American analysts from the Institute for the Study of War to decide that Russia would be preparing some kind of "raids" in northern Ukraine.
According to experts from the Institute for the Study of War, in this way the Russian leadership creates the conditions for the escalation of the conflict through raids across the border. From a military point of view, this is justified by the fact that Ukrainian formations will be diverted and dispersed in several main directions. As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be "clamped" in the north-east of Ukraine.
Analysts claim that such raids can supposedly be undertaken from the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. Rather large Russian forces are concentrated there, which can take part in such operations.
On the other hand, it is not very clear how American analysts would see Moscow's reaction to regular shelling of border settlements. Indeed, as a result of shelling, Russian citizens are killed and injured, civilian infrastructure and residential buildings of Russians are being destroyed. The armed forces of the Russian Federation are obliged to protect the citizens of the country and respond to the shelling of Ukrainian formations in the most severe way.
The aggressive actions of the Kyiv regime cannot but meet with a response from the Russian leadership and the armed forces. Therefore, even if raids are carried out, they will become a completely natural reaction to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Actually, it would be strange if retaliatory measures were not taken.
