Russian Ambassador to the US: America's simultaneous confrontation with Russia and China is a strategic mistake
According to Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov, Washington's strategic mistake was its confrontation on two fronts with two nuclear powers - China and Russia.
Antonov said on air First Channel.
According to the Russian diplomat, American central TV channels are constantly exaggerating the topic of a possible war with China over Taiwan, emphasizing at the same time that the United States allegedly stands for the principle of one China.
Antonov also noted that Washington should not aggravate relations with Moscow either. The diplomat recalled that according to the information exchange data of the parties as of September last year under the START Treaty, Russia and the United States have parity in the number of deployed nuclear warheads.
Against the backdrop of difficult bilateral relations, the Americans are trying to get information about Russian nuclear facilities in order to calculate their capabilities in their anti-Russian policy, the Russian ambassador to the United States believes.
As noted by Russian journalist Andrei Medvedev, Antonov said that Russia needs reinforced concrete security guarantees.
