Turkish President: The decision of Western countries to send tanks to Ukraine is reckless
The President of Turkey commented on the decision of Western countries to supply tanks NATO sample to Ukraine. Recall that this decision was previously reported by Britain, Germany, the United States, as well as countries wishing to re-export Leopard tanks for the needs of the Kyiv regime.
According to Recep Erdogan, the decision to supply tanks is rash, as it could ultimately lead to an even greater escalation.
Erdogan:
The Turkish President noted that the supply of NATO tanks definitely does not contribute to the political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
At the same time, Erdogan had to speak out about the supply of Bayraktar UAVs to Ukraine, which are also unlikely to bring closer the political and diplomatic settlement he mentioned. According to a very sly statement by the Turkish president, the decision on such supplies was made by "a private company, not the state." From Erdogan's point of view, this, apparently, should somehow justify the official Ankara.
Earlier, Erdogan said that he wants Turkey to act as a mediator in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.
Recall that Britain promised to deliver the first NATO tanks for Ukraine. It's about the Challenger tanks. Then, Washington and Berlin announced that they were ready to deliver their tanks, although Washington immediately announced that deliveries could begin no earlier than the end of 2023.
