A group of Ukrainian soldiers who were training in Britain surrendered in Donbass a few minutes after the start of the battle
Increasingly, there are reports that the Ukrainian command is throwing into the battle in the Donbass (from Ugledar to Artyomovsk and territories west of Kremennaya) military personnel who were previously trained in NATO countries. This includes the Ukrainian military, who were trained at the training grounds of Germany, Britain, and Poland. In the hope of turning the tide on the Donbass front, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine throws into battle both those who have undergone quite a long training, and those who have completed a maximum of a two-week course.
Information Service RIA News, referring to the statements of a captured Ukrainian serviceman, writes that a group of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who returned to Ukraine after training at the British base Vorkop was captured.
A Ukrainian prisoner of war (his name is given - Artyom Kovalenko) reported that he and his colleagues surrendered after about 20 minutes of the battle east of Svyatogorsk.
Kovalenko said that in Britain they were trained to storm enemy trenches, fight in buildings, and act as part of units in urban areas. According to the Ukrainian prisoner, the shipment to Britain went from Lvov through Poland. The general course of study lasted three weeks.
The serviceman says that in Svyatogorsk he and his colleagues lived at a camp site. The command sent them to the position in order to hold the defense. However, as soon as they appeared in positions, an intense battle began. Russian units bypassed them from the flanks, as a result of which the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine trained in Britain could only surrender. This happened in December 2022.
Recall that earlier the Ministry of Defense of Poland announced its intention to halve the training period for Ukrainian tankers to gain operational skills tanks Leopard 2. According to some reports, Polish instructors are going to spend no more than 5 days training one Ukrainian soldier.
