Twelve soldiers were injured in a collision between two Puma infantry fighting vehicles at a military training ground in Germany
An unexpected accident involving two Bundeswehr infantry fighting vehicles Puma occurred this morning at the Kolbitz-Letzlinger Heide military training ground, located in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. According to the previously published official statement of the Ministry of Defense of Germany, planned exercises are being held here. tank brigade, which should work out, among other things, tactics with the participation of the Puma infantry fighting vehicle and the main battle tanks of the Bundeswehr Leopard.
Literally immediately after the start of the exercise, two Puma armored vehicles collided for reasons unknown so far. The accident was so severe that twelve servicemen were injured as a result of the incident, one of them was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to an official press release from the German military department.
Immediately after the incident, rescue services and doctors arrived at the scene, a seriously wounded soldier was taken to a regional hospital by helicopter, and first aid was provided to the rest of the victims on the spot. Military police are on the scene, an investigation is underway, and possible causes of the emergency are being established.
On this occasion, one can doubt the proper training of the Bundeswehr military personnel in terms of managing not the most complex military equipment. Puma infantry fighting vehicles began to enter service with the Bundeswehr back in 2015. And these “specialists” from one of the NATO countries intend to train the Ukrainian military in professionalism, including the management of modern Leopard 2 tanks, and even on an accelerated program.
Not the most pleasant event for the reputation of the new Minister of Defense of Germany, who has just taken office, especially given the criticism of his predecessor, just about the technical condition of these particular infantry fighting vehicles, and, in general, the inadequate training of Bundeswehr military personnel.
