Norway, following Sweden, can transfer CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, this issue is under consideration by the country's government. As stated in Oslo, Norway is constantly consulting with Kyiv on possible arms supplies.
The Norwegian Ministry of Defense intends to transfer to Ukraine a large batch of military aid, which may include infantry fighting vehicles CV9030N (Strf 9030) from the presence of the Norwegian army. While there is no talk about the number of infantry fighting vehicles and the timing of their delivery, everything is at the level of consultations. Now the Norwegians are determining whether their military assistance to Ukraine will help defeat the Russian army.
The government is constantly considering whether Norway should send Ukraine more weapons (...) We have good dialogue with Ukraine and allies regarding needs. We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.
Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gramm said.
The Norwegian army is armed with 164 CV9030N (Strf 9030) infantry fighting vehicles specially designed for Norway. Index 30 indicates that the vehicle is armed with a 30mm Bushmaster II automatic cannon instead of the standard 40mm Bofors L70 automatic cannon. In addition, the Norwegian version differs from the Swedish version of the CV9040 with a more powerful 605 hp engine. and an additional landing commander's hatch on the right side in the aft of the BMP.
Earlier, Sweden announced the delivery of 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles in the CV9040 modification to Ukraine. The Swedish version is just with the 40 mm L70 Boffors gun. The delivery should take place in the near future, along with the BMP, the Swedes will send 55-mm Archer self-propelled guns and NLAW anti-tank systems to Kiev.
