Searches are being carried out at the premises of the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Avakov and the oligarch Kolomoisky
According to information circulating in the media, Ukrainian special services are conducting searches of a number of well-known people in the country, including the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who previously headed the administration of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
As it became known, searches in Kolomoisky's house were carried out by employees of the SBU and the country's Economic Security Bureau.
The searches at the oligarch's house were part of an investigation into fraud in the state-owned companies Ukrtatnafta and Ukrnafta, according to which evasion of large amounts of customs duties was revealed, as well as the waste of oil products worth 40 billion hryvnias.
Last year, the Ukrainian oligarch was also searched for cases related to the same companies. True, then they were carried out by employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Searches also took place at the home of ex-head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. Here, this was done by the State Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the case of a helicopter accident near the city of Brovary, in the Kyiv region. This helicopter was bought by the Ministry of Internal Affairs when Avakov was a minister.
According to Avakov, nothing was found on him. He added that all the contracts that were concluded under him were approved by the government and the parliament of the country.
Ukrainian special services also carry out searches in the homes and offices of officials of the Ministry of Defense and other departments. It is noteworthy that this happens the next day after the arrival of auditors from the United States in Kyiv.
