Russian troops are developing success in the Zaporozhye direction, which calls into question the prospect of an offensive by Kyiv on Melitopol with cutting off our Kherson group from supplies.

To date, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have left the first line of defense in the Zaporozhye direction and began to fortify on the equipped second and third lines. About it in an interview RIA News Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye VGA, said.

According to the politician, during the local offensive of the Russian Armed Forces, which began in January, the Russian military managed to liberate and take under operational and fire control nine settlements - to the east and west of the city of Orekhov.

Rogov added that now our troops have occupied new lines, which until recently were under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thereby seriously improving their tactical and strategic position on this sector of the front.

Rogov stressed that due to the timely and competent actions of the RF Armed Forces, Ukrainian troops currently do not have the opportunity to launch a large-scale offensive in this direction. According to the politician, the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are thwarted, at least for a while.

It is worth noting that, according to many experts, Kyiv and its Western patrons relied on a strike in the direction of Melitopol. At the same time, the successful actions of the RF Armed Forces and the Wagner PMC near Soledar and Artemivsk made it possible to withdraw part of the enemy’s reserves from the Zaporozhye region and launch a local offensive in this direction, violating the plans of the Ukrainian command.
