The White House confirmed the refusal of the United States to supply American F-16 fighters to Ukraine
Ukraine will not receive American F-16 fighters, the United States refused to transfer combat aircraft to Kyiv. This position of Washington was outlined by US President Joe Biden, putting an end to a series of assumptions.
The dreams of Zelensky and his entourage that the United States, having handed over to Ukraine Tanks, lifted the ban on the supply of other weapons, did not come true, and in general everything is not going as planned. And the tanks will arrive at the wrong time, and the planes flew past Ukraine. On the eve of Joe Biden, answering a question from journalists about whether the United States plans to supply F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv, he briefly answered "no."
More detailed information was provided by the coordinator of strategic communications of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, who confirmed that there are no plans to supply fighter jets to Ukraine. According to him, the United States and allies are now focused on the supply of weapons that are really necessary for further military operations, and aircraft do not fit into it at all. Western efforts are focused on preparing Kyiv for the spring offensive of the Russian army.
Kirby added.
The refusal of the United States to supply aircraft, most likely, will mean the refusal of the allies, since it is the Americans who determine what needs to be transferred to Ukraine. It is possible that some European country will try to transfer a small number of aircraft to Kyiv, but again, only with the permission of Washington, even if they are not American-made.
