Institute for the Study of War: Delays in the supply of Western weapons were the main reason for the failure of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The West needs to provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons as soon as possible so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can go on the offensive and turn the tide. Delivery delays weapons and techniques will lead to the prolongation of the conflict indefinitely, writes the so-called American "Institute for the Study of War" (ISW).

American analysts have come to the conclusion that it was precisely the delay in the supply of Western weapons that was the main reason that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet defeated the Russian army. According to ISW, the lack of the necessary weapons and equipment several times disrupted the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army, and, accordingly, the liberation of the "captured territories."

The Institute blames Western countries for delaying the process of rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with NATO weapons. The lack of "advanced" weapons and the depletion of Soviet stocks in the Ukrainian army disrupted Kyiv's plans to strike a decisive blow at a time when the Russian army's offensive "stalled". And this gave the command of the Russian Armed Forces time to regroup forces and now the Armed Forces have to "break into" the Russian defenses in order to win a final victory.

Many factors no doubt contributed to Ukraine's failure to continue counter-offensive operations after Kherson, but the West's failure to provide the necessary equipment was certainly key.

writes ISW.

Another factor in the fact that Russia was able to "partially" seize the initiative was the erroneous decisions of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In general, if the West had been more actively re-equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian General Staff had taken the "correct" decisions, then the Russian army would have already been defeated. So the United States and NATO need to step up their efforts and quickly provide Kyiv with everything necessary to launch a new offensive.

An entire institute, just think, concluded that it was impossible to fight without shells in a war where artillery plays the main role. It is already obvious that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have a shell hunger, by the reduced intensity of their counter-battery fight on the LBS. It turns out that the basis of their artillery was not high-precision expensive systems from Western supplies, but the Soviet backlog, which they did not have time to sell.

where art plays the main role.
The main role is played by the correct and clear interaction of various branches of the armed forces.

          Exactly:
          - And here we will have tanks!
          - What all?
          - Yes, both. But there will be no aviation - the pilot fell ill.
It's wildly interesting how you will competently and clearly interact with artillery that has no shells

The West's goal in supplying weapons is not to let the Ukrainians defeat Russia, but to turn Ukraine into Afghanistan, continue the war, and permanently absorb Russia.

More like Vietnam. North Vietnam was also subjected to total destruction of infrastructure, as Ukraine is today. And he, too, could continue his struggle only at the expense of the endless help of the USSR and China.

The same publication, 24.02.22/XNUMX/XNUMX, wrote that Ukraine would collapse in a week. Too many ExErds, and advisers. Yes, there is little objectivity and reliability. The same "Experdy" in Solovyov's studio. Having not even lived a day in Ukraine, they give "advice" on Ukrainian issues. Laughter!))

It is practically impossible to defeat the APU. And he can fight well and for a long time.

I put a plus not for agreement, but because you expressed an opinion in order to level the minus in this way. So I will disappoint you, the APU died in the first three months ago. You cited Vietnam as an example, so the Vietnamese fought against the Americans there, the American proxy troops did not decide a damn thing. Here the proxy troops decide, they are fully supported by the West, this is no longer the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this is a PMC with that name.

Delays in the supply of weapons and equipment will lead to an indefinite delay in the conflict, writes the so-called American "Institute for the Study of War"
And what is the West afraid of if the conflict drags on? Internal turmoil?..Or something else? Like, their fingers reaching for the nuclear button?

Before the start of the NMD, there was an army, weapons (tanks, air defense, aircraft, fleet) on the outskirts. In one year, the SVO - all or almost all are knocked out, i.e. the task of the West is to re-equip the army in a new way, not to pump up, namely to re-equip the army practically from "0", will the West pull it? And he needs it on such a scale, and even on credit to the bankrupt country. About military planning on the outskirts - it is strongly said. When the "mutation" is successful, then the Pentagon planned it, of course, when it failed - the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It would look strange that the striped ones supply weapons and do not dispose of the units, leaving all the weapons at the mercy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Pentagon is planning everything and honing its tactics of conducting combat operations with our army, drawing far-reaching conclusions, and the APU - test subjects, how many of them there are, the sheriff does not care.

This is not even an institute, but a circle financed through the State Department's gaskets to write ordered articles. But it sounds loud. I can do that too, in the spring I will create in my village an Interregional Forum on the Study of Manure Problems. Why quote them? This should be of interest only to analysts of the SVR and the Foreign Ministry, and even then ...

If my grandmother had a grandfather. The most authoritative expert opinion begins with "if". The devils don't care what the native general staff plans, as long as the natives don't run away from the battlefield. Weapons are dumped just enough to prevent this from happening, and for the same purpose they are fed with promises that we are about to win.

That's what it turns out to be. They didn't supply the technology. The question is, where did the one that was, and where did the one that was put go.

There are a lot of soldiers in the fortified cities. They are concreted and reinforced. They do not conduct offensive actions, the question is whether they will be able to conduct them. If you are on the defensive, it is only a matter of time and losses of the attackers. Classic example - Koenigsberg

Give me money, give me weapons, give me everything...
and then .. wow! and we will hit along the roads, and at the centers of decisions, and we will chase everyone, and there will be peace and security throughout the world ...

Well, our media loves to refer to some kind of left-wing, unknown "experts" ...

the lack of the necessary weapons and equipment several times thwarted the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army
It's amazing, a whole bunch of weapons were in Ukraine before the start of the war, plus the Western allies were pumping and pumping weapons, but when it comes to a decisive offensive that should turn the tide of the war, there are no weapons. Where it all goes is unclear.

To be fair, there was some truth in that. Already on the third day, our fighters were near Kyiv. Yes, and it was implied, most likely, that it would collapse without the support of our dear and respected partners.
