Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine: Russia may launch a large-scale offensive in Donbas before February 24
According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov, the Russian Armed Forces can launch a large-scale offensive on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics until February 24. Danilov expressed this assumption in an interview with Western media.
Since February 24 is the anniversary of the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, and in Russia they allegedly like to do something on all round dates, it is most likely that the Russian offensive will begin before February 24, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council believes.
Earlier, the American edition of Bloomberg wrote that in February-March Russia was planning a major offensive in Ukraine. True, unlike Danilov, it connected this with Russia's desire to start it before a new large batch of Western heavy metal was delivered to the front. weapons.
Danilov also added that Kyiv has an idea on which sectors of the front the offensive will take place and noted that, first of all, we are talking about the Donbass.
According to the Ukrainian official, the primary task for the Russian military is to completely reach the borders of the DPR and LPR, which they had when they were Ukrainian regions.
In addition, there is a certain probing of the defense capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council added.
